  Rencontres François-Rabelais Forum Alimentation et Culture

  Après avoir évoqué les Nouvelles Tendances Culinaires les 2 et 3 décembre 2005, les Rencontres des 24 et 25 novembre prochains auront pour thème : Cuisine française, cuisines étrangères : influences, échanges, convergences. De tout temps, la cuisine française a été ouverte sur le monde. Elle a accepté de nouveaux produits venus des terres d’Orient, d’Amérique ou des colonies dont l’intégration au patrimoine culinaire français nous fait oublier l’exotisme originel. Que seraient le cassoulet toulousain, le gratin dauphinois ou la ratatouille provençale sans les haricots, pommes de terre et tomates venues d’Outre Atlantique ? Que serait notre cuisine nationale sans les voyages que firent, en Asie notamment, des grands chefs de renom comme Pierre Troisgros ? Ne leur doit-on pas la découverte des cuissons courtes qui préservent les minéraux et les vitamines des aliments ou de belles créations de plats, comme le « saumon Shizuo ou retour du Japon » d’Alain Senderens ?

  Contrats d'un an au Musée d'histoire des sciences d'Oxford

  The Museum of the History of Science, which houses a collection ofscientific instruments of international importance, has been awarded aDesignation Challenge Fund grant by the Museums, Libraries and ArchivesCouncil for a research project entitled ‘Small Worlds’. It is now invitingapplications for two posts of Researcher for the project, one of whom willconcentrate on cataloguing microscopes, the other microscopical specimens.The officers will be involved with mounting on-line presentations of thecollections and a special exhibition. The successful candidates willpossess relevant degrees and a proven interest in the technical andcultural history of early scientific instruments. The officer formicroscopical specimens is likely to have a relevant background in thebiological sciences.

  La deuxième édition du Salon du livre d'histoire des sciences et des techniques se déroulera les 17, 18 et 19 novembre 2006, à l'espace Robespierre d'Ivry-sur-Seine. Cet évènement est le fruit d'un partenariat entre la ville d'Ivry-sur-Seine et l'Association Science Technologie Société. La Société Française d'Histoire des Sciences et des Techniques est partenaire du Salon.
