Young Women Push Themselves Through Football in the African Public Space

Offre de deux postes de chercheur·e·s (doctorant·e et postdoctorant·e) dans le cadre du programme Le programme « Kick it like a girl ! Young women push themselves in the African Public Space», examine l’engagement de filles dans des équipes de football juniors comme une expérience réelle de citoyenneté et d’empowerment. Il s’agit, plus précisément, d’étudier la citoyenneté « par le bas ». À travers l’étude de l’engagement des filles dans le jeu collectif et dans une vie associative autour du football, nous nous intéressons à la question de leur accès aux ressources et de leur participation à la vie sociale et publique. En d’autres termes, en quoi l’engagement des filles dans le football produit-il de la citoyenneté en Afrique en général et au Cameroun en particulier ?

Focus 2018: Transnational and Regional Dynamics

Europe’s neighbourhood has experienced armed conflict, political transition and authoritarian restoration along with profound social and economic change. These transformation processes with deep historical roots have usually resulted from an interplay of domestic and transnational actors and factors. In order to reveal their complexity, a view through a transnational and regional lens can be rewarding: Which interdependences – past and present – are constitutive for the neighbouring regions of the European Union? How can we study transnational influences and effects on change in Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East and North Africa region? How to distinguish and take into account factors of change across national borders and social boundaries? To which extent do these factors shape political, social and economic realities in these regions?

Au sein de la Recherche et développement d’EDF (pôle Innovation), le Labo des tendances analyse les évolutions sociétales, technologiques et de modèles d’affaires, pour en dégager les tendances moyen et long termes, et pour en étudier les impacts sur l’évolution des modes de vie des ménages européens. Ces analyses nourrissent les dispositifs d’innovation et plus globalement les réflexions stratégiques d’EDF. Dans ce cadre, le·la stagiaire participera aux recherches et aux formalisations de cette connaissance (synthèses, analyses croisées, vulgarisation), dans le domaine des modes de vie, au sens large (consommation, habitat, mobilité, travail, rapport à l’environnement, à l’énergie, valeurs, etc.) et, selon ses compétences, dans les domaines technologiques et/ou des modèles d’affaire, en croisant les approches quantitatives et qualitatives.

Experienced researcher for two action-research projects on urban citizen participation in Brussels

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, investigating the potential of new approaches to urban civic participation, such as by experimenting and developing new methodologies, design interventions and technological approaches. You will be mainly responsible for exploratory research and inquiries, in-depth field studies, and for evaluating and reporting of the action-research.
