Pour leur deuxième édition, les Ateliers doctoraux des Arts Visuels au Maghreb et au Moyen-Orient — XIXe-XXIe siècle souhaitent interroger l'usage des termes qui rendent compte de l'exercice de la temporalité en art et les enjeux historiographiques qu'ils supposent. Sera au cœur du travail l'étude des usages des termes « moderne », « contemporain », « actuel » et « avant-garde » au sein des discours de l'art de la région.

The presence of the absent: History, memory, post-memory
Europe-Latin America, 20th-21st centuries
If History as a discipline evokes the past from the present, the activity of memory is the product of the eruption of the past in the present. The absent is made present according to this phenomenological difference, although this distinctive mark is not what has sparked the reaction of historiography. This workshop aims to delve into the links and differences between history and memory in order to approach new issues that allow us to reflect on historians’ activity in democratic societies where the past has ceased to be a monopoly of professional representation.

Training school
This training school provides participants with insights into the theories and practices of stimulating impact creation from social sciences and humanities research. It will focuses on three specific dimensions. Firstly, creating a conceptual understanding on the specificities of social sciences and humanities (SSH) impact and non-linear impact models. Secondly, alternative appropriate policy frameworks for maximising SSH impact. Finally, we will explore ways of supporting scholarly practices to optimise the creation of impact through SSH research, and capturing this with evaluation systems.

National training program in questionnaire interviews
L’action nationale de formation (ANF) « Questio » propose, sur un même lieu et sur une même semaine, une formation complète sur l'enquête par questionnaire. Elle vise aussi à favoriser la réflexivité sur les pratiques et les usages d’enquêtes, et à mutualiser les expériences de chacun. En faisant appel à des experts de la méthode, l’ANF s'adresse en priorité aux membres du réseau métier Mate-SHS (Méthodes, analyses, terrains, enquêtes en sciences humaines et sociales), mais aussi aux chercheurs et doctorants en sciences humaines et sociales voulant mettre à jour leurs connaissances et se spécialiser.

The globalisation of health - knowledge, practices, politics
Une école thématique interdisciplinaire de recherche intitulée « La mondialisation de la santé : savoirs, pratiques, politiques » se déroulera à Marseille du 23 au 27 octobre 2017. Celle-ci combinera la réflexion sur des thématiques nouvelles ou émergentes, la formation des jeunes chercheurs (doctorants et post-doctorants) et le développement des échanges entre tous ceux qui au sein de PSL travaillent sur les questions de santé mondialisée de façon plus ou moins isolée. Elle interrogera le phénomène contemporain de « santé globale » avec ses acteurs, ses cibles, ses outils et pratiques spécifiques d’intervention dans une perspective qui tienne compte de l’inscription de ces processus dans une durée qui n’est pas seulement celle associée aux constructions impériales et postcoloniales.

The afternoon will start with a visit to the Museum of East Asian Art Bath. Then three leading professionals in Chinese art in the United Kingdom will give a talk and questions/answers. A workshop will then invite participants to reflect on and prepare for a career related to the arts of China.

Les universités de Bordeaux, Pau et Toulouse, avec la Casa de Velázquez, organisent un séminaire de formation avancée consacré aux cultures politiques dans la péninsule Ibérique et au Maghreb (VIIIe-XVe siècle). Il vise à proposer un examen croisé des cultures politiques dans la péninsule Ibérique et au Maghreb au Moyen Âge (VIIIe-XVe siècle). Dans toute la mesure du possible, et sans jamais rien retirer aux singularités des contextes respectifs, l’étude sera fondée sur une démarche résolument comparatiste et pluridisciplinaire, associant historiens, archéologues, historiens de l’art et littéraires.

From theory to practice
The Summer School is aimed at Master’s students, PhD students, young researchers, scholars and practitioners in the area of second language learning and teaching who already engage in or would like to become involved in theatre/drama activities and research into these. The Summer School will be divided into morning seminars, in which examples of good practice and research methodology will be presented by experts in the field. The afternoon sessions, instead will be devoted to practical workshop activities. Cette université d’été a deux objectifs. le premier est d'explorer un secteur mal étudié de l’ethnologie comme la musique dans les camps de transit. S’il existe une abondante littérature historienne et musicologique sur la musique dans les camps de concentration et dans les camps d’extermination, rares sont les études qui portent sur les pratiques musiciennes. Le second objectif est de construire une démarche comparative afin de mesurer la singularité d’une observation ponctuelle sur ce que l’on appelle la crise des migrants en Europe : Paris, Baigorri, Calais, Dunkerque (France), Friedland (Göttingen, Allemagne), M’Bera (Mauritanie), Mentao (Burkina Faso), Zaatari (Jordanie).

Memory and the making of knowledge in the Early Modern world
While memory is an established sub-field within these disciplines, its themes and sources have led to an over-representation of the ancient and modern worlds, meaning that the early modern era has been comparatively neglected. The School seeks not merely to redress this imbalance, but also to explore how studies of memory and early modernity might shape one another in the future. Participants in the Summer School, which will take place between 18 and 22 September 2017, will have the opportunity to discuss the most recent research presented by leading scholars in the field, to learn or refine skills in workshops that focus on the media and techniques of memory, and to present their own work to a uniquely qualified and supportive international peer group.

La “Scuola estiva internazionale in Toscana di Studi leopardiani, pascoliani e montaliani” (III edizione, 2017) è un’iniziativa accademica che vede coinvolto il settore contemporaneistico del “Dipartimento di Italianistica e Comparatistica” della Facoltà di Scienze della Formazione dell’Università Cattolica di Milano. È realizzata in collaborazione con il “Centro di Cultura dell’Università Cattolica” di Lucca (fondato nel 1975). Ai propri iscritti, la Scuola propone una settimana residenziale – nel centro storico della suggestiva città di Lucca – dedicata a un ciclo intensivo di lezioni e di conferenze (inframmezzato da tour lucchesi e da gite culturali in Toscana) finalizzate ad approfondire la conoscenza del pensiero e dell’opera di tre dei più importanti poeti italiani dell’Ottocento e del Novecento – Giacomo Leopardi (1798-1837), Giovanni Pascoli (1855-1912) ed Eugenio Montale (1896-1981).

La première édition 2017 de l'université d'été a pour objet le travail appréhendé du point de vue de ses relations avec la Santé. Il se situe en tension dynamique entre les pratiques interdisciplinaires et les pratiques transdisciplinaires.
