La Fondation pour la Mémoire de la Shoah propose des aides à la recherche dans les domaines relatifs à la Shoah, ses origines, ses conséquences jusqu'à l’époque actuelle, ainsi que l’étude de l’antisémitisme contemporain. Elle favorise les projets ouvrant de nouveaux champs de connaissances, présentant une approche originale, relevant notamment de l’histoire comparative. Elle attache également de l’importance aux perspectives européennes, internationales et interdisciplinaires qui associent les analyses historiques, anthropologiques, sociologiques, juridiques, philosophiques, psychologiques ou littéraires.

KU Leuven is advertising a four-year PhD position at the Faculty of Arts as part of the FWO-funded project “Languages writing history: the impact of language studies beyond linguistics (1700-1860)”. The aim of this project is to study the history of the language sciences and the formation of linguistics as a discipline from a ‘post-disciplinary’ point of view.

Professorship in the history of the anthropocene

We invite applications from scholars with documented research interests in the domains of environmental history, the history of knowledge, or science/technology history, and with a focus on the 19^th to the 21^st centuries. The professor will have to develop innovative teaching and research at the Department of History in the domain of the History of the Anthropocene, with a concentration in, for example, climate, plants, animals, energy, resources or environment.

This two-year fellowship in Madrid, administered by the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, is devoted to original research on nineteenth-century American paintings in the museum's permanent collection. The fellow’s research will contribute to a new display of the American collection, a scholarly publication, and an international symposium.

Ary Scheffer Prize for a thesis pertaining to 19th century studies (1789-1914)

Désireux de récompenser et promouvoir les travaux de chercheurs portant sur le XIX^e siècle, le Comité de liaison des associations dix-neuviémistes (CL 19) a créé un prix annuel destiné à couronner une thèse de doctorat ou un mémoire de troisième cycle portant sur le XIX^e siècle (1789-1914). Ce prix est décerné pour la première fois en 2016, dans l’esprit du CL 19, qui réunit sociétés savantes, groupes de recherche, musées, bibliothèques et institutions culturelles concernées par l’étude du XIX^e siècle.
