  L’Association des archivistes français (AAF) organise, au printemps 2016 (30, 31 mars et 1^er avril), à Troyes, la deuxième édition de son forum. Comme nous partageons tous aujourd’hui le constat que le numérique a envahi toutes les facettes et fonctions des archives, cette deuxième édition du forum de l’AAF se propose de questionner les métamorphoses des archives au contact du numérique, suivant une double approche, épistémologique et méthodologique.

  Freedom, Equality, Computer: governmentality, algorithms and spatial justice

  Does the automation of mathematics, intrinsic to computers, make it impossible for the human brain to apprehend the essence of computational reason? We routinely trust computers with the task of calculations we cannot even comprehend, and whose formalism necessitates a level of abstraction distinct from all discernible particular realities. The end-results of these formal calculations then necessitate an act of translation/treason into natural language. In other words, the understanding of situations considered "complex" can only be attained today through a series of formal calculations which are absolutely unintelligible.

  Vulnérabilité des littoraux méditerranéens face aux changements environnementaux contemporains

  Vulnerability of Mediterranean coastal area to actual environmental changes

  Du 20 au 24 octobre prochain se tiendra, sur l'archipel de Kerkennah (Tunisie) le symposium « Vulnérabilité des littoraux méditerranéens face aux changements environnementaux contemporain » qui portera sur trois grand thèmes d'étude : le changement climatique en Méditerranée: conséquences, adaptation et vulnérabilité ; le constat de l’évolution climatique en cours et le changement simulé par les modèles du climat ; le risque climatique en milieu urbain et la résilience des aires urbanisées en milieu méditerranéen.

  Call for papers - Epistemology and methodology

  Digital Humanities in Portugal: building bridges and breaking barriers in the digital age

  Discussion about the role of the Humanities in academia and society has a long history. The confluence of this debate with the changes brought about by digital technology is not new either: one cannot speak of "new technologies" for the Humanities when many researchers turned to digital methods at least four decades ago, in disciplines as diverse as Linguistics, History or Literary Studies. The Conference “Digital Humanities in Portugal” aims precisely to stimulate these intersections, opening up a forum for discussion and sharing of research results or ongoing projects in this field of knowledge.

  Tensions on the water in Europe in the Mediterranean bassin: water crisis from now until 2050?

  La SHF, l’AFEID, l’Académie de l’eau et l’UISF ont souhaité approfondir les questions liées aux futures tensions sur la gestion de l’eau, en lien avec le changement climatique et les évolutions sur l’usage de l’eau d’ici 2050, en proposant un colloque incluant tant les études hydrologiques et climatiques que les études ou acquis des sciences sociales. Le regroupement de ces thèmes au sein d’une même manifestation vise à permettre un dialogue pluridisciplinaire entre les analyses climatiques et hydrologiques, les analyses socio-économiques et les réflexions sur la dynamique des crises sur l’eau.
