Interroger les formes contemporaines du « vivre ensemble », à partir des phénomènes de dissonances culturelles, mémorielles et patrimoniales implique d’analyser la manière dont toute société gère les tensions issues des différences qui les traversent – eu égard au contrat social qui les structure – étant donné que les fondements du « vivre ensemble » sont par nature instables. La culture, le patrimoine, la mémoire – et les objets, les lieux ou les pratiques dans lesquels ils s’incarnent – participent tout autant à la quête d’une harmonie collective qu’au surgissement de désaccords. En filant la métaphore musicale, ces trois domaines peuvent en effet devenir dissonants.

Cette journée d’étude propose d’interroger le rôle central des archives dans l’écriture de l’histoire du XXᵉ siècle, et plus particulièrement de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. À travers une approche plurielle, elle mettra en lumière la diversité des fonds, des lieux de conservation et des pratiques archivistiques qui nourrissent aujourd’hui la recherche historique. En croisant des regards d’archivistes, de chercheurs et de professionnels du patrimoine, cette journée entend souligner combien les archives sont des matériaux dynamiques, au cœur des renouvellements historiographiques et des débats contemporains sur le passé.

Si les discussions s’orienteront du côté des arts et de la linguistique, qui constituent l’empan disciplinaire des journées, les propositions qui dialoguent avec les sciences humaines et sociales seront aussi bienvenues.

The Left’s Diverging Paths in the Green Transition
Since the 1970s, environmental constraints, shifting social values, and the crisis of post-war productivism have profoundly challenged the Western left. Once grounded in beliefs in scientific progress, technological innovations, and rising material prosperity, left-wing movements have increasingly been forced to confront planetary limits, rising inequality, and growing public ambivalence toward technoscience. These tensions have crystallised in contemporary debates on the Green Transition, where competing visions of abundance (growth-oriented technological optimism) and sufficiency (degrowth, sobriété, post-productivism) shape political and social antagonisms.

Les doctoriales du Centre d’Histoire du XIXe siècle constituent une occasion de réunir les doctorant·es du centre pour échanger sur des thématiques communes, elles accueillent aussi volontiers des communications de jeunes chercheuses et de jeunes chercheurs extérieur·es. Elles se structurent en deux demi-journées, consacrées respectivement à une interrogation méthodologique et à une interrogation thématique. Cette année, le sujet thématique est le suivant : « Cultures et représentations militaires dans l’espace méditerranéen, 1798-1918" et le sujet méthodologique est « Faire l’histoire de la fraude et des escrocs au XIXe - premier XXe siècle ».

La Guerre froide latino-américaine : dialogues globaux
Desde finales del siglo XX, las investigaciones sobre la Guerra Fría en Latinoamérica han adoptado un enfoque transnacional, centrado en redes que cruzan fronteras y actores no estatales. Estas investigaciones amplían el marco temporal, utilizando perspectivas más globales y basadas en fuentes de archivos latinoamericanos, con el fin de resaltar la agencia de los actores locales y alejarse del análisis bipolar tradicional. El objetivo del panel es visibilizar esta producción regional y establecer un diálogo con investigaciones de otras regiones, discutiendo metodologías, avances en el acceso a datos y la situación de los archivos en el continente.

Paradigme mémoriel de la littérature : un nouvel ancrage spatio-temporel de la littérature ?
De Proust à nos jours
D’À la recherche du temps perdu à La Plus Secrète Mémoire des hommes en passant par Malone meurt de Beckett, Blanche ou l’Oubli d’Aragon, Le Temps immobile de Claude Mauriac ou Souvenirs dormants de Patrick Mondiano, l’histoire littéraire de cent dernières années semble être jalonnée par les récits de la mémoire. Faire un « détour » par la philosophie permet de sortir du cadre des contestations mémorielles, où les fictions littéraires sont envisagées au même titre que d’autres types de discours qui servent à transformer les imaginaires et les identités collectifs, pour revenir à la littérature et poser la question de ce que ce tournant mémoriel fait à l’écriture littéraire, et plus spécifiquement au rapport à l’espace et au temps.

Le collectif, en tant que composante essentielle du cinéma militant des années 1960 et 1970, a été au centre de plusieurs études de référence. Sans sous-estimer les négociations et les conflits qui l’animent et le traversent souvent, cette quatrième journée d’étude du groupe de recherche sur les utopies cinématographiques se demandera comment l’utopie travaille le cinéma collectif et sa portée politique, à partir de démarches militantes ou participatives, reconfigurant la notion d’auteur, sollicitant une plus large participation à l’invention du film ou permettant un accès partagé aux moyens de création.

Les XXIIIe rencontres de la Fondation se proposent de réexaminer en profondeur les relations complexes, évolutives et structurantes que Le Corbusier entretient avec la nature. L’objectif est de restituer à la fois les fondements historiques de cette pensée et ses traductions analytiques, en interrogeant la nature comme cadre écosystémique, comme projet spatial et comme vecteur de refondation sociale et culturelle à l’heure des bouleversements climatiques contemporains.

Books and manuscripts in exile since the 19th century
Throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, books and manuscripts found themselves in forced exile in Europe. Requisitioned during military occupations, such as the books looted by the Nazis during the Second World War, they were also pillaged in the context of colonisation. These cultural objects also went into exile, accompanying exiles fleeing authoritarian, totalitarian regimes or war zones. In this conference, we would like to study the historical phenomenon of books and manuscripts in exile, both from a historiographical perspective and in terms of their heritage value.

Unlike the often-speculative analyses of many experts, this conference aims to examine the relationship between diplomats, diplomacies, and sport by analyzing sources (archives, interviews, etc.), with a focus on its forms, practices, and the actors who shape them. The theme of sport and international relations has remained a largely overlooked area in scholarly research within history, international relations, and organizational sociology.

Travail et pauvreté aux XIXe et XXe siècles », présentée du 5 juin 2025 au 31 mai 2026, qui s’arrête aux années 1990, en proposant un espace de parole pluridisciplinaire, dans une perspective historique qui s'étendra jusqu'aux enjeux actuels.

This workshop seeks to explore the links between preaching and socio-humanitarian action in the contemporary Middle East. Contexts of social and humanitarian crises appear as privileged sites for understanding this constitutive device of faith experiences, beyond the sole framework of the sermon or religious discourse. The chosen approach is deliberately cross-cutting: it brings Islam, Judaism, and Christianity into dialogue, while situating the Middle East within a global perspective. How does preaching accompany and shape social and humanitarian action? In what forms and according to which modalities does it unfold? How does it influence the understanding and implementation of aid?

Outre les héritages de l’Ancien Régime et de la Révolution, c’est surtout depuis la Restauration que la comptabilité publique permet de collecter, classer et contrôler les données budgétaires et comptables. D’un instrument de contrôle et de reddition, elle a progressivement évolué, au gré des réformes, vers un outil de pilotage et d’aide à la décision documentant la situation financière du secteur public et alimentant l’évaluation des politiques publiques. Souvent réduite à une dimension « froide » et technique, la comptabilité publique constitue au contraire un outil opérationnel pour appréhender différentes réalités économiques et sociales et tenter d’agir sur elles.
