A forum on current issues in European librarianship

The New Shape of Sharing: Networks, Expertise, Information continues conversations begun at the New Directions Symposium held in Frankfurt in 2017. This multi-day forum of panel presentations, a poster session, and interactive breakout sessions on key issues facing Western European collections and public services will encourage both structured and unstructured debate. We will advance our understanding of the challenges and initiate action in three areas: design new models for collaborative collection development and services; explore a growing range of content and format types and what they mean for libraries and researchers, and highlight the evolving role of libraries and librarians in the research process.

The 23^rd edition of the International Conference on Electronic Publishing (ElPub) will celebrate the cultural diversity in all aspects of the transmission and perception of the written, spoken and illustrated word! In 2019, ElPub will expand your horizons and perceptions. Taking as an inspirational starting point the concept of bibliodiversity, the forum will revisit its definition and explore what it means today. Being organised five years after the adoption of the International Declaration of Independent Publishers to Promote and Strengthen Bibliodiversity Together, supported in 2014 by 400 publishers from 45 countries, the conference aims to bring together the enquiring academic, professional and publishing industry minds keen to explore the ever evolving nature of the knowledge transmission within human societies.

Understanding and stimulating social sciences and humanities impact and engagement with society

Training school

This training school provides participants with insights into the theories and practices of stimulating impact creation from social sciences and humanities research. It will focuses on three specific dimensions. Firstly, creating a conceptual understanding on the specificities of social sciences and humanities (SSH) impact and non-linear impact models. Secondly, alternative appropriate policy frameworks for maximising SSH impact. Finally, we will explore ways of supporting scholarly practices to optimise the creation of impact through SSH research, and capturing this with evaluation systems.

This conference is dedicated to exploring qualitative methodology as an approach which enriches interdisciplinary understanding of communication phenomena. Graduate and Postgraduate Programs in Education in Arab Universities: Quality and Added Value

This conference is organized by the Arab Educational Information Network Shamaa and the Lebanese Association for Educational Studies and will be held in November 2013 in Beirut, Lebanon. The conference's objective is to provide a platform for educational researchers to present their perspectives on the current state of research studies in graduate programs in education and to raise questions regarding the quality of these studies. Papers presented will be subject to peer review process to be eligible for publication in the refereed conference proceedings. We hope that this conference will help capture the current practices in MA and PHD programs in education in the Arab countries, and will allow for a rich professional dialogue among its participants toward developing ideas and recommendations for improving these programs as well as the quality of their graduates and the studies they produce.
