  Délinquances, crimes et répression dans l'histoire

  La question de la délinquance, dans l’acception la plus générale du terme, se révèle particulièrement complexe car les criminologues, sociologues, psychologues, psychanalystes, médecins, juristes, historiens qui ont abondamment étudié ce sujet ont émis des opinions souvent très différentes, voire contradictoires. Les difficultés surgissent dès qu’il s’agit de qualifier le phénomène. En droit français, le mot délinquance désigne tous les types d’infractions. Celles-ci se répartissent en trois catégories : les contraventions qui constituent les infractions les plus légères, les délits qui se situent à un niveau intermédiaire et les crimes parmi lesquels on distingue les meurtres, homicides volontaires non prémédités, et les assassinats, homicides volontaires prémédités.

  El V Congreso Internacional «Deporte, Dopaje y Sociedad» está organizado conjuntamente por la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid y la Agencia Española de Protección de la Salud en el Deporte. Bajo el lema Think Clean, se pretende la puesta en común de resultados de investigaciones científicas y nuevas metodologías en el ámbito del dopaje en el deporte. Desde la perspectiva específica de las ciencias humanas y sociales, creemos que esta iniciativa permitirá conocer los factores que inciden en la utilización de métodos y sustancias dopantes. A partir de este conocimiento esperamos fomentar futuras acciones de prevención y control del dopaje y promover comportamientos éticos en el deporte.

  Special Issue of the International Journal of Žižek Studies

  The International Journal of Žižek Studies intends to release a special issue on the topic of Žižek and music, thus offering a first forum for all those who working in music-related fields who have adopted Žižek’s theories for reflecting about music. The goal is to approach the subject from a broad range of different perspectives, not only by covering the fields of classical, pop, jazz and experimental music, but also by bringing together philosophers, musicologists and scholars from the field of sound studies as well as composers, dramaturges and opera producers. This special issue is intended to stimulate a truly interdisciplinary and multi-faceted dialogue, offering a starting point for a fruitful discussion on music from a fresh perspective.

Each year, a specific topic is addressed from the point of view of multiple scientific fields such as health sciences, nutrition, psychology, cognition, sociology, economics, etc., offering an enriching overview on different topics. The eight edition of the International Research Symposium aims to share up-to-date research on managing hunger and satiety both from the consumers and from the producer’s perspectives. More, this day will be devoted to address appetite and food intake mechanisms in relation to pleasure and health in a product context or a food service context.

  Shaping the Brain

  In the Late Middle Ages and Early Modern Period

  The brain has, throughout history, been considered an important achievement in the creation of man, although often secondary to the soul and the heart. Our knowledge about how the brain has been conceived in the past is, however, very fractional, especially for the late Medieval and early modern periods. This conference looks to re-situate the question of knowing the brain anew in a dialogue between medicine (anatomy, physiology and pathology) and natural philosophy (inter alia physics, biology and psychology).

  In 2012 the NIOD will conclude the research program Legacies of collaboration: the integration and exclusion of National-Socialist milieus in Dutch society on the consequences of Nazi collaboration in the Netherlands. The research team looks forward to discussing its new approaches and results with colleagues from various fields and disciplines in a two day international seminar. We do not solely focus on the history of Nazi-collaboration, but aim to place our methods and results in a broader perspective.

  Corps étrangers : améliorer & envahir le corps humain

  Deuxième symposium international de CORPUS, groupe international d'études culturelles sur le corps

  Fondé en 2009, CORPUS regroupe aujourd'hui plus de deux cent chercheurs travaillant dans une cinquantaine de pays. Né d'une série de séminaires organisés de 2001 à 2008 dans le cadre de la formation « Histoire et civilisations » de l'École des hautes études en sciences sociales et de la faculté de psychologie de l'université Autonome de Madrid, CORPUS entend participer à la construction d'une anthropologie grande ouverte du corps en offrant des espaces pour des réflexions croisées et des dialogues disciplinaires autour de ce fascinant objet d'études. Organisé avec l'appui de l'Institut d'ethnologie et d'anthropologie de l'Académie des Sciences de Russie, le second symposium international de CORPUS aura pour thème « Corps étrangers : améliorer et envahir le corps humain ». Cette rencontre se déroulera à Moscou, les 17 et 18 mai 2010.
