  Contributions of articles for electronic journal Verbum et Lingua

  The electronic magazine Verbum et Lingua: Didáctica, lengua y cultura will dedicate its 16th edition (July-December 2020) to the topic of Chican@s studies. Grosso modo, for Ornelas, Ramírez and Padilla (1975), the Chican@s studies have made a great effort to integrate four main constructs: race, class, culture and gender/sexuality. These constructs are present in the work of different artists who express their ideology in order to politicize and lead their community(ies) to change. According to Macias (2018), the Chican@s field of study seeks to make research holistic and multidisciplinary, as well as inclusive, comparative, grounded, up-to-date and critical. At the same time, it seeks to apply the results to social justice, education, as well as to the change of the global Chican@ communities.

  O CIDEHUS (Centro Interdisciplinar de História, Culturas e Sociedades) tem uma coleção de livros com arbitragem por pares: Coleção Fontes e Inventários. Como o título indica, destina-se a editar instrumentos de busca de bibliotecas e arquivos, bem como disponibilizar documentação de interesse geral a um público alargado. Mediante um aviso anual, a partir de agora esta coleção abre-se à comunidade académica em geral e não apenas aos membros do CIDEHUS para efeitos de publicação.

  Lisbon Summer School in Science, Society and Culture

  LxS - Lisbon Summer School in Science, Society and Culture, to be held in Lisbon on September 9-20, 2013, is the summer event of the Pedro Hispano Doctoral Studies Programme, composed of 5 courses, workshops, and a graduate conference. The courses of the 2013 edition of the summer school focus on five research puzzles raised by current societal challenges: language hegemony and migrations, culture and heritage, social inequality, urban dynamics, and climate change.
