  Defining and defying the concept of deviance and degeneration in the British Isles and North America in the 19th century

  This one-day conference aims at exploring the definition(s) and contours of deviance and degeneration as it was conceived in the British Isles and North America in the 19^th century. PhD students, postgraduate students and junior scholars whose research pertains to the study of deviant groups, whether self-defined or not, are particularly welcome to participate. Speakers will be invited to focus on the processes of definition of the standards of normality – whether religious, social, political, legal, medicalor sexual – as well as what those processes entailed for those who were labelled ‘deviants’. The role of scientists, doctors but also political authorities is of considerable interest in this respect, as are the ways in which normative standards were circumvented and challenged.

  Class, Gender and Peacebuilding in Peru (1961-2014)

  Según el historiador Franklin Pease, ‘hacer una historia de la subversión en el Perú con elemental seriedad, requiere disponer de información confiable, casi nunca al alcance del investigador’. Trabajar sobre grupos alzados en armas que se organizaron en el marco de la 'lucha de clases' desde los años 1960, es tarea difícil en la medida en que significa trabajar sobre la clandestinidad. Nombrar, investigar o repensar a grupos como el ‘Partido Comunista del Perú-Sendero Luminoso’ (PCP-SL) y el Movimiento Revolucionario Tupac Amaru (MRTA) supone un peligro para el investigador: ser llamado ‘terrorista’ es común en un medio donde el discurso oficial y el discurso académico han confluido para dar una versión única. Maritza Felices-Luna y Anouk Guiné los invita a someter un capitulo para el libro colectivo que sigue el coloquio internacional « Clase, Género y Construccion de la Paz en el Peru (1961-2014) » que se llevo a cabo en Ayacucho (Peru) en julio 2014.

  Multiculturalism and Gender in France, UK, Canada and the U.S.

  Les débats français, britanniques, canadiens et nord-américains sur les tensions entre universalisme et particularisme sont au centre des questions relatives à l’immigration et à la diversité ethno-raciale, religieuse et de genre. Ce colloque se propose tout d’abord d’explorer les manières dont chacun des quatre pays gère les tensions entre multiculturalisme et genre. Ensuite, face aux réponses institutionnelles et aux pressions du groupe, de quelle manière les personnes les plus vulnérables des groupes réagissent-elles ? Enfin, dans quelle mesure les mouvements antiracistes sont-ils les alliés des mouvements féministes ?
