The main aim of the Evolution of Semantic Systems project (EoSS project) is to investigate how meanings vary over space and change over time, by combining recent advances in semantic typology, the systematic cross-linguistic analysis of meaning variation, with new evolutionary methods for understanding cultural variation in time and space.

Structure and Dynamics of Media Flows
This workshop is the closing event of the ANR Corpus Géomédia project, which has had geographs, media specialists and computer scientists working together since the end of 2012. It reflects the aims of the project, ie. to create a tool to capture RSS feeds concerned with international news for a number of newspapers in the world (French-, English- and Spanish-speaking), before using it to answer some research issues: what is an event? how to explain the sub/over-representation of some spaces or actors? can the flow of information be modelised at global scale?

Appropriation et transmission des langues et des cultures du monde
Au-delà de la compétence linguistique dans un monde globalisé: action, interaction et médiation interculturelle
Au croisement du linguistique et de l’éducatif, du social et du politique, le Séminaire doctoral international réunit chaque année des enseignants-chercheurs et de jeunes chercheurs concernés par l’appropriation et la transmission des langues et des cultures. Conçu comme un outil de formation à la recherche, à l’initiative du monde académique, au bénéfice des professionnels impliqués dans la diffusion et l’enseignement des langues, fondé sur l’échange scientifique entre jeunes chercheurs, universitaires et experts confirmés, en présentiel, par un dispositif de visio-conférence ou par une plate-forme d’échange, le Séminaire propose d’engager la réflexion scientifique internationalisée par un programme incitatif comportant des conférences plénières de chercheurs de premier plan issus de champs disciplinaires complémentaires et des ateliers consacrés à la présentation par les jeunes chercheurs de leurs travaux. Les langues de travail sont le français et l’anglais.

La sémiotique comme philosophie de l'éducation
Le séminaire « Semiosis and education », financé conjointement par la PESGB (Philosophy of Education Society of Great Britain) et l’Université de Cergy-Pontoise, est organisé dans le cadre des travaux d’un réseau international ayant pour objet les liens entre sémiotique et éducation. Le séminaire qui aura lieu le 3 octobre 2011 fait suite à une première rencontre, organisée en octobre 2008 à Gand, et s’appuie sur un ensemble de travaux de recherche produits depuis plusieurs années.
