  Five research assistant positions for the project "Decoding Antisemitsm"

  For a 3-year research project on anti-semitic hate speech and hate images on the internet, research assistants are wanted. A qual­it­at­ive lin­guistic con­tent ana­lysis of social media com­ments and analysis of image mater­ial and text-image rela­tion­ships related to anti­semitic con­tent is planned. In addi­tion, quant­it­at­ive lin­guistic meth­ods will also be applied to the social media cor­pus. For the coun­try teams we are seek­ing two doc­toral stu­dents for the Eng­lish lan­guage area, two for the French lan­guage area and one for the Ger­man lan­guage area.

  4. Internationale Konferenz der Gesellschaft für Ostnordische Philologie

  Auf der Tagung werden die neuesten Forschungsergebnisse und –projekte aus den Bereichen der ostnordischen Linguistik, Handschriftentransmission sowie Paläographie und Kodikologie vorgestellt und diskutiert. Zudem finden zwei Workshops statt, die das das Thema E-Learning in der Ostnordistik sowie ein geplantes Handbuch zur ostnordischen Philologie diskutieren.

  Forschungen der Digital Humanities und Computerphilologie

  Innerhalb der Workshopreihe philtag kommen Wissenschaftler der Geistes- und Kulturwissenschaften zusammen, die verstärkt digitale Methoden in ihren Forschungen anwenden. Dabei werden aber nicht nur Forschungen mit primär philologischen Inhalt vorgestellt, sondern das Vortragsspektrum reicht von digitalen Editionen bis hin zu „Vektorzeichnungen von Keilschrifttafeln aus 3D-Modellen“ (Hubert Mara, Universität Heidelberg) der Informatik  und „Geovisualisierung und Dialektlexikographie“ (Eveline Wandl-Vogt, Österreichische Akademie der Wissenschaften) der Korpuslinguistik. Einen besonderen Höhepunkt stellt der Abendvortrag von Hugh Craig (University of Newcastle) zu „Traditional, experimental, typical, aberrant: a distant reading of 376 late twentieth-century British novels“ dar.

  Am 28. und 29. März 2014 wird das Laboratoire de Recherche sur le Langage (LRL EA 999) der Université Blaise Pascal das im Jahresrhythmus stattfindende internationale Kolloquium der germanistischen Sprachwissenschaftler Frankreichs in Clermont-Ferrand organisieren. Das Kolloquium soll zur Diskussion dieses in allen linguistischen Perspektiven wichtigen Phänomens einen Betrag leisten und zur präziseren Erfassung des Forschungsobjekts selbst, seiner Relationen zum Ko(n)text und seiner kommunikativen und diskursiven Implikationen dienen.

  L'expression du temps en Allemand contemporain

  Temporalität in der deutschen Gegenwartssprache

  Le colloque scientifique portant sur « L’expression du temps » - thème proposé à l’agrégation d’allemand (option linguistique) - se déroulera les 23 et 24 novembre à Lille. La thématique concerne, à l’exclusion des formes verbales, l’expression du temps sur ses différents plans : morphosyntaxique (différents moyens disponibles : adverbes, prépositions, groupes nominaux, subordonnées), sémantique, ainsi que son déploiement en texte.Cette manifestation vise à établir un état des lieux de la recherche actuelle sur cette thématique. Les communications, d’une durée de 30 minutes maximum, seront suivies d’un débat.
