  Sissi and us: new mythologies

  In recent years, the fictional character of Sissi has been reimagined from a feminist perspective. This new appreciation of the character of Sissi owes much to gender studies. It also derives from the interpolation of narratives and fictions about other (modern) princesses such as Lady Diana. Fairy tales are now being put into perspective, and the same goes for historical princesses when represented in fiction. Following this “Sissi turn”, the book will adopt a deliberately transversal and interdisciplinary perspective.

  What mankind? Teaching, students, (male and female) teachers

  Revue internationale d'ethnographie n°4

  This call for contribution of the Revue Internationale d’Ethnographie considers gender issue in terms of education and training through three “foundations”: teaching, students and teachers. It aims at assembling articles dealing with these three “foundations” – in a connected or disconnected way – by putting into evidence the dynamic which connect them to the gender issue so as to renew the knowledge extending to these observations of various situations. Expected contributions will emanate from ethnography but those from different subjects concerning humanities and social sciences may be relevant as well.

  Ethical challenges of disability

  Parfois on naît avec un handicap, parfois c’est un accident de la vie ou une évolution pathologique, ou même un aléa du progrès médical… Mais « avoir » un (ou plusieurs) handicap(s) est-ce pour autant « être » handicapé(e) ? Que ce signifie être « autre » quand nous sommes tous… différents ? Ne suffirait-il pas parfois « d'accompagner » pour redonner à l’autre ses pleines capacités ? L’accessibilité, l’inclusion ou l’intégration scolaire et sociale, l’insertion professionnelle, la vie culturelle et associative, les perspectives thérapeutiques et les supports technologiques… vont dans le bon sens. Mais tout cela n’est-il pas aussi la conséquence d’un long combat – qui n’est pas terminé, loin s’en faut ! – au nom de l’éthique ? Être porteur de ce que l'on considère être un handicap, c'est toujours devoir accepter l'inacceptable pour apprendre à vivre comme sujet avec son corps et la réalité.
