Ce numéro spécial a l’ambition de réunir encore plus de chercheur·e·s autour de cette thématique, qui par définition est pluridisciplinaire. Par nature, en se penchant sur Pokémon, les Game Studies sont au cœur du thème, toutefois, compte tenu du succès mondial de la franchise et de ses nombreux produits dérivés (cartes, mangas, romans jeunesse, films, séries, peluches, jouets en tout genre, albums de musique, parcs à thème), les travaux sur Pokémon peuvent non seulement tirer profit desdites Game Studies, mais aussi des études littéraires, des études filmiques, de la musicologie, de la sociologie, etc.

Geosemiotics of Traces and Imprints of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Accident in the Tōhoku landscape

This PhD project aims to document the imprints and traces of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster through mapping, using an ethnographic and semiotic approach. It specifically seeks to explore the possibility of creating memorial traces of a radioactive disaster whose main characteristic is to be invisible, odorless, soundless, intangible—in a word, imperceptible.

In the last decade the Digital Humanities (DH) movement has swept the academic landscape in the United States, Europe and China, DH has become a new mantra. However, we argue that the real transformative power transcends the broad DH label, rooted in the depth and specificity of computational methodologies. By critically examining examples drawn from disciplines like history, literature, and sociology, we highlight how computational methods offer both macroscopic and microscopic insights, reshaping the very essence of research.

Cette journée d’étude vise à faire dialoguer plusieurs disciplines des sciences sociales : l’anthropologie, les sciences de l’information et de la communication et les sciences et techniques des activités physiques et sportives dans une démarche heuristique et exploratoire. Sera interrogé le corps des jeunes, les Digital Native engagés dans des associations sportives, humanitaires et/ou sur les réseaux sociaux (Facebook, Line, Instagram) afin d’analyser les formes de l’engagement au XXI^e siècle et leurs re-présentations hors ligne et/ou en ligne et d’initier une réflexion épistémologique.

Comics and sport

During the final talks of the fruitful international conference named “body languages in comics” set up by the junior drawn sciences laboratory of the Ecole normale supérieure (ENS) in Lyon on 8th and 9th October 2014, the idea to carry on, in a more precise way, the numerous debates on the occasion of a later scientific event was mentioned. In light of this, the C3S laboratory (“culture, sport, health and society”) of the University of Bourgogne/Franche-Comté organises holding an international symposium in order to study how sport is depicted in comics. Researchers in the C3S laboratory dedicate their work to sport sciences with a theoretical and epistemological commitment marked by interdisciplinarity. According to this stance, the international conference is open to various contributions allowing to understand the representations (whether they be historical, sociological, anthropological, literary, semiotic, psychological…etc…) of sport in comics.

Figuring catastrophe, thinking nuclear

What films on Fukushima have to teach the humanities and social sciences

Le projet du colloque « Figurer la catastrophe, réfléchir le nucléaire : ce que les films sur Fukushima apprennent aux sciences humaines et sociales » s’inspire de l’entreprise originale menée par Tetsuya Miura dans le Tohoku et à Tokyo de rétrospective itinérante de films sur Fukushima et sur le nucléaire. Notre premier objectif est la constitution d’un corpus de films sur Fukushima projetés dans le cadre de ce colloque, et sa conservation dans un fonds de recherche de « Films sur Fukushima » déposé à la bibliothèque Diderot de Lyon. Le deuxième objectif de cette manifestation scientifique est de fédérer la recherche lyonnaise menée dans plusieurs laboratoires de lettres, arts, sciences humaines et sociales sur le nucléaire et travailler à son rayonnement international. Ce colloque est organisé conjointement par le CERCC (centre d'études et de recherches comparées sur la création), l'institut d'Asie orientale (IAO) et la bibliothèque Denis Diderot de Lyon.
