  Ethiopian Studies and Digital Humanities: tools and projects

  Beta maṣāḥəft, Ethiopian Manuscript Archives, EthioMap

  The objective of this workshop is to create the conditions for the emergence of a scientific community using digital collaborative tools within Ethiopian studies. There is no need to recall the scientific and technological context in which we live to understand the importance and challenges of this methodological revolution. Many initiatives have emerged over the past two decades, both in terms of the availability of digitized documentation and the tools to use it. After the first experiments, interoperability and sharing have become the key words, and Ethiopian studies must respond to these good practices.

  African Archives of French Trade Unions and Political Parties

  Les confédérations syndicales françaises et les partis de gauche conservent leurs archives, maintenant pour la plus grande part inventoriées. Nombre de chercheurs les utilisent pour faire l’histoire du syndicalisme et de la gauche française. Dans ces mêmes archives existent des documents qui constituent un véritable gisement sur les relations avec l’Afrique, coloniale et post-coloniale, avec les syndicats et partis africains et malgaches. Ces sources sont largement méconnues et inexploitées. Le CODHOS a jugé bon de dresser un état des lieux, de tracer une sorte de cartographie « africaine » des archives syndicales et partisanes françaises, cartographie qui ne peut qu’aider la recherche tant sur le syndicalisme et les partis de gauche en France que sur le syndicalisme et les partis en Afrique.
