  Linked pasts IV

  Linked Pasts is an annual symposium dedicated to facilitating practical and pragmatic developments in Linked Open Data (LOD) in History, Classics, Geography, and Archaeology. It brings together leading exponents of Linked Data from academia, the Cultural Heritage sector as well as providers of infrastructures and library services to address the obstacles to, and issues raised by, developing a digital ecosystem of projects dedicated to interlinking online resources about the past.

  Multi-ethnic cities in the Mediterranean world

  This meeting aims to foster a discussion about the continuities and disruptions which have conditioned the multi-ethnic dimension of Mediterranean cities. We would like to focus on the specificities of places and time in our millennial history that have produced both tangible and intangible cultural heritage. We would like to broaden the traditional horizons of our disciplines under the issues of our times, questioning the role of historical research and the forms of scientific communication nowadays, when old practices seem more challenged than ever by the overwhelming expansion of new technologies.

  A Paisagem apresenta-se como o cenário que herdámos, onde vivemos, e donde retiramos os recursos com que subsistimos enquanto civilização e espécie. O resultado da nossa actuação sobre este património será a herança que iremos deixar aos nossos descendentes. No início do terceiro milénio, e numa sociedade submetida a mudanças culturais, que decorrem a velocidades muito superiores às que o tempo de percepção, meditação, e experimentação necessitam, o interesse pela Paisagem tem ganho uma importância crescente, que transforma a disciplina numa plataforma de investigação onde se cruzam os vários ramos do conhecimento.

  La réticulation du monde 2 : art, technologie, textile

  La journée d’étude « La réticulation du monde (2) – art, technologie, textile) » est le second volet d’un projet pluriannuel initié en 2014 par les écoles d’art du NPDC et Le Fresnoy. Cette seconde journée a pour fonction de proposer un approfondissement de la problématique du « réseau » à travers son paradigme initial : le textile. Elle trouve son ancrage dans l’histoire du terme même de « réseau » qui désigne à l’origine un filet (« résueil » est un filet de pêche ; « résille » est un tissu à larges mailles qui couvre initialement le visage) ; mais aussi dans l’histoire de la région qui fut, de la fin du XVIII^e siècle à la première moitié du XX^e siècle, un haut lieu de la production textile.
