  Solitude(s) au Canada

  Études Canadiennes / Canadian Studies 87, décembre 2019

  Ce numéro d’Études Canadiennes / Canadian Studies sera consacré aux nouvelles perspectives et aux lectures innovantes du thème « Solitude(s) » dans la littérature canadienne. Seront bienvenues les propositions qui explorent les interactions culturelles et linguistiques entre les deux solitudes fondatrices et la façon dont le Canada français et le Canada anglais se décrivent mutuellement (ou non) dans la littérature et les arts visuels. De même, sont attendues des propositions sur la représentation des Premières Nations, souvent désignées comme étant la « Troisième Solitude » du Canada, avec un intérêt particulier pour les œuvres d’écrivains et artistes autochtones canadiens. Les autres solitudes du pays ne seront pas oubliées en ce qu’elles partagent avec les communautés minoritaires fondatrices des préoccupations similaires ayant trait à l’identité culturelle, qui soulèvent des questions relatives à la reconnaissance de l’Autre, à l’inclusion, aux frontières et aux limites.

  Censorship: Creative contemporary constraints and dynamics in the representation of the British and American nations

  This 2016 workshop on contemporary US-UK photography will take on the notion of censorship. With photography as its starting point, this edition aims to extend the debate to include the contemporary image on the whole. It is interested in the intermedial forays of other artistic forms in the practice of photographers (art installations, video and/or audio productions, performance, urban art practices, text/image interactions). How does the very artistic form/medium become in itself a means of expression and commitment when confronted with censorship, a means to create unity against censorship, a tool for identity expression of a group or of a minority, to circumvent constraints, or thrive upon these limits and generate creative impetus from them?

  Le cinéma québécois pense-t-il philosophiquement ? On pourrait répondre sur-le-champ par l’affirmative, mais la réponse demande à être approfondie. Peu de chercheurs ont examiné en détail le rapport qu’entretiennent la philosophie et ce corpus cinématographique.
