The focus of the project is on cultural and scientific historical sources of the 18th and 19th centuries in the context of Alexander von Humboldt's American journey.

L’Institut national d'histoire de l'art s'associe avec la Terra Foundation for American Art pour attribuer une bourse postdoctorale qui s'accompagne d'un accueil d'un an à l'INHA et d'une bourse de voyage. Le lauréat aura pour mission de produire une recherche inédite sur l'art américain avant 1980 donnant lieu à la publication d’un article dans l’année suivant le terme de la bourse (les missions de la Terra n'incluent pas les questions architecturales). Dans le cadre du voyage d’études effectué par le lauréat, l’INHA veillera à promouvoir la diffusion de la recherche du lauréat aux États-Unis.

Grâce au financement des Instituts de recherche en santé du Canada (IRSC, 2013-2016) et la Chaire de recherche sur la francophonie canadienne en santé, notre équipe de recherche entend participer à une lecture pancanadienne de l’histoire de la santé mentale au Canada en s’intéressant spécifiquement au contexte de désinstitutionnalisation et de déhospitalisation qui a marqué l’Ontario et le Québec dans la seconde moitié du XXe siècle. Considérant qu’un Canadien sur neuf hospitalisés pour maladie mentale retournera à l’urgence moins d’un mois après sa sortie d’hôpital, il nous intéresse de documenter les itinéraires « transinstitutionnels » des personnes souffrant de troubles psychiques.

Le / la post-doctorant(e) devra avancer sa recherche tout en concourant à l'organisation des manifestations du projet EDHML (Écrire l'histoire depuis les marges : le cas des Africains Américains et le devenir de l'histoire), soit 2 colloques, 1 séminaire et 3 journées d'étude. Le/la doctorant(e) sera basé au laboratoire CRIDAF/ Pléiade, Université Paris 13, Villetaneuse. Il (ou elle) travaillera en coordination avec les laboratoires CREW (Paris 3 Sorbonne nouvelle) et Paris Diderot (LARCA). Le projet porte sur l'écriture de l'histoire par les historiens noirs et les récits d'esclaves (pour l'essentiel).
