17th international Slav studies conference
Le XVIIe congrès international des slavistes se tiendra à Paris, au Centre Malesherbes de Sorbonne Université du 28 août au 1er septembre 2023. Ce congrès, qui réunit tous les cinq ans les slavistes du monde entier — spécialistes de langue, littérature, histoire, — s’est tenu pour la première fois à Prague en 1929. C’est la première fois dans son histoire qu’il se réunira dans un pays non-slave, l’année même du centenaire de l’Institut d’études slaves.

Methodological and epistemological stakes
Le GDR « Empire russe, URSS, monde post-soviétique » est né début 2019. Il a vocation à mettre en réseau les chercheurs français en sciences humaines et sociales travaillant sur l’Empire russe, l’URSS et le monde post-soviétique, dispersés sur l’ensemble du territoire, et à soutenir les étudiants et les jeunes docteurs s’engageant dans des travaux sur cette aire. Il souhaite aussi donner de la visibilité aux travaux portant sur cet espace et renforcer le dialogue interdisciplinaire avec les chercheurs français travaillant sur d’autres espaces.

The implementation of France’s commitment in Central and Eastern Europe in the interwar period (1917-1939)
The aim of this conference is to shed light on joint practical initiatives between France and all the allied countries of central Europe during the inter-war period to concretely build the alliance between the partners. France’s collaboration with the member states of the Little Entente (Czechoslovakia, Romania, Kingdom of the Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes) — and of these powers amongst themselves — will be emphasized, but communications on the ties with the other Allied Powers or partners from the region (Poland, the Baltic States and Finland, Greece, Turkey), and even with the revisionist powers (Soviet Russia, Hungary, Bulgaria) are welcome.

Quantification / approximation and nominal groups: trees and forests
La journée se propose de réunir des linguistes intéressés par les différents aspects de la quantification et de l’approximation, si ce n’est par l’interface entre les deux problématiques, tant dans la sphère du groupe nominal (GN), que par l’intermédiaire de GN (intégrés à des syntagmes adverbiaux à portée émargeant éventuellement le domaine du GN : adverbiaux qui quantifient sur le temps ou sur les événements, approximateurs en tous genres, à portée y compris nominale). Nous employons à bon escient le terme de groupe nominal pour ce qu’il a de vague, en référence à l’analyse en constituants immédiats (syntagme déterminant (SD) à tête fonctionnelle D vs syntagme nominal SN à spécificateur SD).

Ce colloque se propose, à l’occasion du centenaire de la révolution d’Octobre 1917, de penser cet événement au regard des productions monumentales dont il a été à l’origine, et de mener une réflexion sur les enjeux multiples que soulèvent les traces encore présentes de l’Union soviétique dans tout son espace d’expansion et jusqu’en Île-de-France.

Trajectories of October 1917: Origins, reverberations and models of revolution
Around the overarching theme of October 1917, we are seeking to foster dialogue between historians of 1917 who can make new contributions to the interpretation and analysis of that revolutionary movement in the Russian Empire, and scholars working on other areas and on later periods who also deal with 1917 in their analysis and interpretation of revolutionary movements. To bring all of this research together, we are holding a conference, from 19 to 21 October 2017, in which scholars from various disciplines and specialists of different areas are invited to participate.

Crossing the past: Medieval (and Early Modern) Brno and Olomouc in transition
The Summer School "Crossing the past" aims for a discussion about different (national art historical narratives of a specific late medieval corpus in Moravia. It provides the opportunity for young international scholars to meet the material reality of one of the most important medieval centers of the transalpine Europe, often marginalized in research, not only due to the linguistic barrier. The goal of the school is a close and direct examination of the on-site monuments and art objects, and secondly, a critical reflection about the diverse narratives and meta-narratives existing about these monuments.

La redécouverte de la musique d'avant-garde soviétique des années 1920
Ce colloque propose d'étudier l’avant-garde musicale soviétique, expérience passionnante bien que marginale en comparaison des autres phénomènes artistiques qui ont accompagné la révolution soviétique. Les débats théoriques qui animent cette décennie se cristallisent notamment autour de la nature intrinsèque de la musique, en ce qu'elle existe en tant que monde sonore, idéologiquement libre. L’apparition d’intentions politiques dans l’ensemble des genres musicaux apparaît comme un élément central, caractéristique de la période soviétique des années 1920. À travers ce retour réflexif sur l’histoire, il nous paraît primordial d’étudier la place de la révolution de 1917 dans ce qu’elle a pu représenter pour les musiciens soviétiques, en tant qu’évènement historique déterminant. Cette problématique gagnerait à se nourrir des questionnements soulevés par d'autres disciplines, telles que l'histoire des arts, l'esthétique, l'histoire culturelle, ou d'autres disciplines artistiques.

Geoarchaeological research in the Black Sea and the Azov Sea
Since the first studies undertaken in 1783 by Gablitz on the chora of Chersonesos, the Black Sea comprises an important area to look at the rural and coastal development of the Greek colonial world. Systematic surveying of ditches and walls that line the western coast of Crimea, initiated within the framework of Catherine II’s Greek project, began several decades before the earliest excavations of the urban spaces in 1832. A decisive new step was made during the 1960s, when archaeological surveys provided fresh insights into the internal organization of several kleroi close to Chersonesos, Kerkinitis and Kalos Limen. Around the same time, in the western Black Sea, the first research on the territory of Istros began, complemented by numerous geomorphological studies of the neighbouring Danube Delta. The foundations of geoarchaeological inquiry had been laid, and these have since been added to thanks to recent research undertaken throughout the Pontic area.

Mapping the History of the Bohemian Lands and the First Czechoslovak Republic (1880-1938)
It seems that in contrast to the contemporary history of former Czechoslovakia, the research on the late 19th and early 20th centuries has remained static in the last couple of years. How can the recent historiography on the Bohemian lands be encouraged? Which approaches and research fields emphasizing the mutual relationships between local, national and transnational actors promise new perspectives and interpretations of multiethnic society? The workshop aims at critical discussions of the state of research and of ongoing research projects related to the Bohemian lands and the First Czechoslovak Republic, focusing on comparative or transnational questions in the given period.

La France et les Français en Russie : de nouvelles sources pour de nouvelles recherches (1789-1917)
De Pierre le Grand à la Seconde Guerre mondiale, les relations de la France et de laRussie, tour à tour alliées ou opposées, ont toujours été importantes pour l’histoire del’Europe dans tous les domaines, politiques, diplomatiques, militaires, commerciaux ou intellectuels. Or la période qui s’étend entre la Révolution de 1789 à celle de 1917, est, mis à part l’épisode napoléonien, presque une terra incognita tant du point de vue des sources conservées dans les deux pays que des recherches effectuées. À l'occasion de la publication d'un Guide sur les sources de l’histoire de France et des Français dans les archives d’État à Moscou sous l'égide de l’École nationale des chartes, le colloque, « La France et les Français en Russie : de nouvelles sources pour de nouvelles recherches 1789-1917 » souhaite offrir de nouveaux éclairages sur les relations franco-russes.
