  Processes of peace and transitional justice

  L’Institut universitaire Varenne (IUV) et l’Association francophone de justice transitionnelle (AFJT) organisent leur cinquième université d’été consacrée à la justice transitionnelle. Elle est destinée – au travers d’un thème – à former et sensibiliser les participants à l’ensemble des mécanismes judiciaires et extra-judiciaires permettant de traiter les violations massives et systématiques des droits de l’homme. Lors de l’édition 2018, l’université d’été aura pour thème « Processus de paix et justice transitionnelle ». Cette dernière sera donc analysée au prisme du contexte de sa mise en œuvre.

  Reading and analysing Ottoman manuscript sources

  During the four-day programme we will introduce young researchers (mostly MA and PhD candidates, but postdocs may also apply) to reading, combining and analysing manuscript sources from various archives of the Ottoman era, produced at local, provincial and imperial levels. We concentrate mainly on materials from the 16^th and 20^th centuries, but welcome also explorations into earlier archives.
