Decolonizing Museum Cultures and Collections: Mapping Theory and Practice in East-Central Europe
International conference for heritage scholars and practitioners
This conference brings together curators, artists, scholars, and other intellectuals and cultural activists working on East-Central European heritage, to reflect on how the main trends of decolonial debate are intersecting in practical and theoretical terms with the heritage sector, with a particular focus on museums in the region. The conference will place special emphasis on mapping both the range of colonial histories embedded in, as well as decolonial approaches to, museum collections and practices in East-Central Europe.

Globalisations and the circulation of ideas, knowledge and norms
L’objectif de ce colloque est de revenir sur les études de « la globalisation » à partir des circulations des idées, des normes et des savoirs, en étant attentifs aux stratégies des acteurs, dans une perspective décentrée, et en dépassant les approches en termes de transfert et d’uniformisation. Il s’agit d’étudier l’impact des polarisations économiques et des rapports de pouvoir internationaux sur ces circulations, en dépassant le seul face à face entre hégémonies et subalternisations et une vision en termes d’uniformisation : peut-on parler de globalisations au pluriel ou observer des processus de globalisation parallèles non-hégémoniques ? Quels en sont les acteurs et les processus principaux ? Nous souhaitons ainsi interroger les manières dont les idées, les normes et les savoirs circulent pour rendre compte des asymétries à l’œuvre, mais aussi de la manière dont, dans les pratiques, elles peuvent être contournées, remises en cause, réinterprétées dans des configurations parfois inédites.

Commitment, Challenges and Crises of International Art Criticism since 1945
The international conference Reframing the (Art) World/Redéfinir le monde (de l’art) aims at concluding an intense three-year research carried out within the frame of the research programme PRISME, hosted at the Archives de la critique d’art (Archives of Art Criticism in Rennes). By following a multidisciplinary approach, the aim of this conference is to reframe a still little-known chapter of cultural history, in order to reconsider art criticism as a historical and epistemological prism in regard to international issues since the second half of the XXth century.

France Hydrotechnical Society (SHF) prize - Pierre Massé 2018
La Société hydrotechnique de France (SHF) décerne chaque année le prix Pierre Massé, prix « Sciences Humaines et Sociales ». Ce prix récompense des thèses de doctorat de langue française ou délivrées par une université francophone des travaux inédits, de jeunes chercheurs, soutenues ou présentées entre le 1er septembre 2016 et le 31 décembre 2017. Leur sujet doit relever des sciences humaines et sociales appliquées aux domaines de l’eau, et développant plus particulièrement les apports, théoriques ou pratiques, qu’il s’agisse, entre autres : d’économie, de sociologie, d’anthropologie et de psychologie, de sciences politiques, de droit et de techniques managériales, d’histoire, d’archéologie ou de géographie.

By all measures, Germany played an overwhelming role in the development of philology and linguistics during the 19th century. This ascendancy rests on the transmission to other national academies of theoretical constructs and views, methods and institutional practices. On the other hand, German philological and linguistic ideas, methods and institutions were not constituted in isolation from the rest of the world : Transfers to the German-speaking world must also be taken into account.

25th Modern Greek Studies Conference of French-speaking universities
The biennial Congress of French-speaking Modern Greek Studies scholars will take place from October 12th to October 14th, 2017 in Aix-en-Provence. Its aim is to bring together researchers from every domain of the humanities and social sciences. The issue at the heart of this 15th Congress is the historical progress of certain areas of study towards the status of full-fledged disciplines of the humanities and social sciences in Greece from the moment of the establishment of the Greek state (1830) and within a context allowing the study of this phenomenon in both its regional and its international dimensions.
The works of the Congress will be organized around the following themes:
1. The emergence, institutionalization, reproduction and diffusion of disciplinary bodies of knowledge.
2. The way each discipline positions itself with relation to other fields of knowledge and implements its theoretical foundations
3. The processes of establishing legitimacy for the new disciplines and for the groups framing them
4. Disciplinarization and the field of Modern Greek Studies
Abstracts must be submitted before February 28th, 2017, in either French or English.

The journal is affiliated to the Centro de Informação Europe Direct in Aveiro (Aveiro Europe Direct Information Center) and to the Centro de Estudos Interdisciplinares do Século XX da Universidade de Coimbra – CEIS20 (Center for Interdisciplinary Studies of the Twentieth Century, University of Coimbra - CEIS20), with support from the Gabinete em Portugal do Parlamento Europeu (European Parliament Office in Portugal) and the Representação da Comissão Europeia em Portugal (European Commission Representation in Portugal).

From Ideas to Markets: Excellence in mainstreaming gender into research, innovation, and policy
The Gender Summit 4 - Europe 2014 invites the contributions of researchers, innovation leaders and other R&I stakeholders on strategies, methodologies and best practice on putting gender equality into action. Abstracts will be reviewed by the international programme Scientific Committee for inclusion in the Summit programme and in the Summit publication. All selected contributions will be published in the Best Practice Guide. Authors may be invited to present their work orally in the Summit plenary, during working group sessions, or as poster presentations in the Summit Exhibition. Selected abstracts will be invited to produce a full paper for publication in the Summit proceedings. Abstracts need to be submitted using the structure and formatting of the submission template. They should address one or several of the Summit dimensions and indicate the appropriate thematic track. Deadline for abstract submission is the 30 March 2014.

Cinquièmes rencontres Jules Verne
Ouvertes à un large public, ces rencontres s’adressent aux professionnels (chercheurs, enseignants, acteurs de la culture scientifique, industriels) comme aux citoyens. Les « Rencontres Jules Verne » réuniront des chercheurs des disciplines scientifiques ou des sciences humaines, mais également des ingénieurs, architectes, journalistes, artistes … Ce sera l’occasion de croiser et de confronter des approches différentes : histoire des idées, histoire littéraire, analyses philosophiques et anthropologiques de l’imaginaire social. Sans oublier les « verniens », analysant le projet sociétal de l’auteur des Voyages Extraordinaires.

Measures, users, actors and institutions
Le colloque « les cultures des sciences en Europe. Volet 2 : dispositifs, publics, acteurs et institutions » (Strasbourg, 13, 14, 15 octobre 2011) s’inscrit dans le cadre d’une manifestation à deux volets initiée dans le grand Est de la France par des laboratoires coopérant au même projet, le Centre de recherches sur les médiations (CREM – UPV, Nancy 2, UHA) et le Laboratoire interuniversitaire des sciences de l’éducation et de la communication (LISEC – UDS, Nancy 2, UHA). Ce colloque abordera les enjeux politiques de la culture scientifique, les volontés d’acteurs, la manière dont les institutions s’impliquent, les objectifs poursuivis. Une importance toute particulière sera accordée à l’équilibre qu’il s’agit de mettre en œuvre entre les programmatiques européennes et les spécificités des histoires, des traditions et des innovations en ce domaine. -

Ce colloque « junior » veut explorer la concurrence idéologique entre l’expertise économique, la sphère publique, le marché et la politique en France et en Allemagne depuis les années 1980 dans une manière comparative. Plus spécifiquement, nous nous intéresserons à ce qui a constitué les fondements de cette autorité scientifique et politique de ces trois dernières décennies et sur la meilleure manière de les décrire et de les analyser. Ce colloque se veut interdisciplinaire : nous accueillerons volontiers des contributions tournées vers l’étude de la science, de la sociologie ou géographie économique et de l’histoire économique, ainsi que les études de cas empiriques.
