  Bearing Witness to Traumatic Experiences: Cultural Productions of Uyghurs in Exile

  PhD position in Asian Studies

  This Ph.D. position is funded by a MIS (Mandat d’Impulsion Scientifique/ Incentive Grant for Scientific Research) project: “Bearing Witness to Traumatic Experiences: Cultural Productions of Uyghurs in Exile”. Uyghurs are a Turkic-speaking people based at the border of Central Asia and the north-western part of China. Massive internments and arrests of hundreds of thousands of Uyghurs have taken place in the region since 2016, including the Uyghur elite. In these conditions, centers of the cultural production of the Uyghurs have shifted from their native land to the diaspora spread across the world. This project looks at Uyghur diasporic cultural production that aims at drawing the world’s attention and bearing witness to the various abuses perpetrated at home by the Chinese government. The whole project analyses selected poems, short films, video clips, and dance and music performances to tackle new transmedial forms of testimonies in the Uyghur case.

  Premio de Publicaciones ICAS (Convención Internacional de Académicos de Asia) sobre Asia

  En 2004, la Convención Internacional de Académicos de Asia (ICAS) inauguró su Premio de Publicaciones. Otorgado cada dos años, este premio tiene como objetivo dar visibilidad internacional a las publicaciones académicas dedicadas al estudio de Asia, aumentando así su perfil internacional y reconociendo las publicaciones de excelencia en el campo. Desde 2017, IBP comenzó a incluir los siguientes idiomas: chino, francés, alemán, japonés y coreano. A partir de 2019, agregó español, portugués, ruso y japonés a los idiomas en los que se puede otorgar el premio. Se pueden presentar trabajos monográficos o compilaciones publicados entre octubre de 2018 y enero de 2021, en las áreas de Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales. No se aceptan: traducciones de originales en otros idiomas, además de libros de referencia, antologías, obras de ficción, poesía, libros de viajes, autobiografías, recuerdos, panfletos, libros escolares, catálogos de exposiciones.

  Commentaries on Ibn Sīnā’s Qaṣīdat al-nafs

  Deux bourses de recherches postdoctorales

  Suite à la nomination à un poste définitif d’un de nos chercheurs, nous avons le plaisir d’offrir deux bourses de recherches postdoctorales pour une durée de 12 mois et de 9 mois respectivement pour le projet « Avicenna East & West I : Commentaries on the Qaṣīdat al-nafs ». Le objectifs du projet sont : (1) Comprendre la diffusion de la pensée avicennienne au sens large dans l’Orient musulman à travers l’analyse des commentaires du Poème de l’âme. (2) Procéder à une analyse transversale des commentaires pour déterminer sur quelles questions précises, en quels termes, en utilisant quels types d’arguments, quelles références, quel type de discours, les commentateurs s’affrontent au texte et entre eux.

  This project will explore how young Chinese cosplayers engage with the public at large to express new identities in spaces that are heavily regulated by social and political censoring mechanisms. On the one hand, this doctoral research will explore the structural organisation of Chinese cosplay (associations, conventions); on the other hand, it will look into specific bodily performances in public spaces.

  Le projet DELI (Dictionnaire encyclopédique des littératures de l’Inde), qui est financé par l’Idex Université Sorbonne Paris Cité, recrute un chercheur au niveau post-doctoral ou un ingénieur d’études à temps plein pour une durée de 18 mois (renouvelable sous conditions), à partir du 1^er décembre 2015. Ce collègue assistera les responsables du projet DELI dans des activités administratives, financières et éditoriales (pour les versions papier et numérique du dictionnaire) tout en pouvant mener des recherches autonomes.
