Friedrich der Große: Politik und Kulturtransfer im europäischen Kontext

Am 24. Januar 2012 jährt sich der Geburtstag Friedrichs des Großen zum 300. Mal. In Vorbereitung des Jubiläums und der zu diesem Anlass gezeigten Präsentation »FRIEDERISIKO – Friedrich der Große 1712–2012« veranstaltet die Stiftung Preußische Schlösser und Gärten gemeinsam mit der Stiftung Preußische Seehandlung und dem Deutschen Historischen Institut Paris seit 2007 eine Reihe wissenschaftlicher Konferenzen zu Friedrich dem Großen und seiner Zeit. Le 24 janvier 2012, on fêtera le 300e anniversaire de la naissance de Frédéric II de Prusse. En préparation de ce jubilée et de la présentation « FRIEDERISIKO – Frédéric II de Prusse 1712–2012 », la Fondation des châteaux et jardins prussiens organise depuis 2007, en partenariat avec la Fondation Preußische Seehandlung et l’Institut historique allemand de Paris, un cycle de conférences autour de Frédéric II de Prusse et son époque. -

Du 19 au 21 novembre 2009 se déroule au Centre Marc Bloch à Berlin un colloque international consacré aux échanges entre artistes plasticiens dans l'Europe communiste. Il s'agit de comprendre les échanges aussi bien à l'intérieur du bloc soviétique qu'entre les deux blocs. -

Post-Ottoman Cities
What is the historical experience of cities in the former territories of the Ottoman Empire - in the Balkans, Anatolia, the Middle East, and North Africa - in dealing with the impact of global changes and the transformation from Empire to nation States? How did people of different cultural, social and religious backgrounds live together? How are such examples of conviviality, conflict, migration, and urban regimes of governance and stratification conceptualized? And how have urban traditions been reinterpreted, and what bearing does this have on modern conceptions of civil society, multicultural societies, migration, or cosmopolitanism. These and other questions will be addressed in this year’s Seminar in Ottoman Urban Studies. Séminaire organisé par Ulrike Freitag et Nora Lafi. -

This workshop for PhD candidates aims to reassess how far stakeholder relations in different companies prove the existence of a specific West German governance compromise from the 1950’s through the 1980’s. Therefore, we would like to invite contributors who are researching companies in Germany as well as in other countries. -

Perspectives on a European Social, Cultural, and Protest History of the 1980s
On May 6th 1980, a group of new recruits was publicly sworn in with the German Bundeswehr in the Bremen soccer stadium. As a reaction, street battles of hitherto unknown dimensions between left-wing activists and (military) police took place in the area near the stadium. Since the conflicts surrounding the newly built nuclear power plant of Brokdorf a couple of years earlier, a certain "tradition" of militant mass protest had already existed. Yet with the so-called "Bremen Bundeswehr riots" for the first time protests of a comparable scale took place within a bigger city. Viewed in the following years as the beginning of the German autonomous movement, this inner city riot marked at the same time a European phenomenon. -

Cette journée d'études doctorales franco-allemande vise à susciter une réflexion et une discussion à partir d'études de cas précises sur la question du silence des sources, en considérant en particulier les pratiques historiographies mises en œuvre face au silence ou à l'absence de sources, et la signification historique qui peut être attribuée à ces lacunes.Cinq chercheurs présenteront une intervention., suivie dune discussion à laquelle participent les doctorant-e-s. La maîtrise de l'allemand est indispensable. La MHFA prend en charge les frais de déplacement et de séjour de l'ensemble des particpants. Date-limite de dépôt des dossiers : 10 juin 2009. -

Le Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies (FRIAS) est un Centre de recherches au sein de l'université de Freiburg, pôle universitaire d’excellence fondé grâce à l'initiative d'excellence, un concours fédéral des universités allemandes. L’Institut est composé d’une École scientifique –school of history – au sein de laquelle l’ensemble des disciplines en histoire est représenté ; des chercheurs internationaux y réalisent des projets majeurs de recherche pendant leur séjour. Dans la phase actuelle des cinq premières années de la school of history, les projets individuels se rassemblent autour de l'histoire européenne comparative du XVIIIe au XXe siècle. Au-delà de cette perspective définie, des propositions scientifiques concernant d’autres époques et d’autres pays sont également les bienvenues. -

Die Erinnerung an die eigenen Ursprünge in den geistlichen Ritterorden im Mittelalter
La Mission Historique Française en Allemagne (MHFA), avec la collaboration scientifique du CRHIA (Centre de Recherches en Histoire Internationale et Atlantique), organise deux journées d'étude internationales consacrées à la « mémoire des origines propres dans les ordres religieux-militaires au Moyen Âge » les 25 et 26 juin 2009. La coordination scientifique de la rencontre est assurée par Philippe Josserand (Université de Nantes/CRHIA) et Mathieu Olivier (MHFA). Les journées se dérouleront dans la salle de conférence de la Mission Historique Française en Allemagne à Göttingen. La place disponible étant limitée, les personnes intéressées sont priées de se manifester à l'avance auprès de la MHFA (mhfa@mhfa.mpg.de). -

Appel à communication pour une École d’été internationale et interdisciplinaire
Le Centre Marc Bloch organise début juillet une école d'été sur le thème « Frontières d'hier, frontières d'aujourd'hui en Europe ». Elle s'adresse à des doctorants et des jeunes post-doctorants de toutes les disciplines des sciences humaines et sociales mais aussi des sciences de l'environnement. Les quatre journées s’articulent autour des thématiques suivantes : « Border Making » et historicité des tracés frontaliers en Europe ; Transformation et durabilité des frontières intérieures de l’Europe ; Enjeux climatiques et frontières politiques ; Renforcement des frontières extérieures de l’Europe et transformation de la sécurité intérieure -

These and other questions will be addressed in this year’s Seminar in Ottoman Urban Studies, with a specific focus on daily life issues. This seminar is supported by the research program ‘Europe in the Middle East – The Middle East in Europe’ EUME with funds of the Fritz Thyssen Stiftung.
