  Research in the service of the national project?

  The history of sciences and health in Senegal and Africa, 1960-1970

  Quels furent les rapports entre la recherche scientifique et le projet national –celui de construire un avenir collectif et souverain calqué sur l’unité sociale, politique et territoriale de la Nation— dans les décennies suivant les indépendances en Afrique ? Les années 1960 et 1970 évoquent souvent une relation intime entre science, État et développement national. Mais quelles ont été les modalités précises sous-tendant la construction de cette relation ? Voici les questions que nous nous proposons d’explorer et de discuter dans cet atelier, dont l’objectif est d’élaborer une vision historique plus précise et détaillée de l’histoire des sciences pendant cette période ainsi que d’ouvrir le débat sur les enjeux sociaux et politiques des savoirs et de leur construction au Sénégal et en Afrique.   Water quality and usages of water - 2012

  EDEQUE 2012 doctoral seminars

  This multidisciplinary meeting will bring together all PhD students, teachers, researchers and partners working in the fields of science, technology and socio-economic aspects of water. The theme of the meeting of this year is titled "the achievements of water reform and funding in Africa: Case of Senegal". This year's seminar of EDEQUE will revisit the main points in the institutional reforms of the water sector initiated by the gouvernment. This meeting will be a great forum of exchange and sharing of scientific results. It will be also an occasion, for young research students to present to the participants the progress of their PhD reaseach work and to visit laboratories, water infrastructures sites on the ground.
