    Unusual actors

    Forms and effects of the informal action in the Caribbean, between legality and illegality (XVII-XXI century)

    What is the role of informal institutions in the evolution of the economic, political and social aspects of Caribbean basin? Diacronie will analyze the economic and social development of the area, focusing on the role played by informal actors, namely the ones moving between legality and illegality, that were able (or are able) to give the individual (no matter if a customer, consumer or merchant) what the laws prohibit. The objective is to examine both contemporary phenomena and phenomena which, although related to the early modern age, have generated long-term consequences in the history of the regions related to it.

    Circulation and the exchange of knowledge about nature in Latin America

    Between continents and communities

    Il s’agit d’un séminaire de recherche destiné aux doctorants et chercheurs travaillant sur des domaines proches des études sociales des sciences. Les participant des projets ENGOV (projet européen FP7, Environmental Governance in Latin America and the Caribbean: Developing Frameworks for Sustainable and Equitable Natural Resource Use) et Circulation des savoirs et des pratiques culturels du CREDA (UMR 7227), les étudiants, doctorants et chercheurs de l’IHEAL-CREDA, institution où Pablo Kreimer est professeur invité durant ce semestre seront particulièrement les bienvenus, ainsi que tous les chercheurs et futurs-chercheurs s’intéressant aux savoirs de la nature. Cette année le séminaire sera organisé en 3 tables rondes au printemps 2012.
