  Assistant HES (Doctoral student) at Geneva School of Business Administration

  The Geneva School of Business Administration (HEG-Geneva) offers a Research Assistant (Doctoral student) position for three years starting from 1^st September 2013.The doctoral student will participate to the project « Organizing, Communicating, and Costing in Risk Governance: Learning Lessons from the H1N1 Pandemic », financed by the Swiss National Science Foundation. He or she will be in charge of the research components dedicated to costing around H1N1. This comparative study will involve qualitative fieldwork in three countries, namely Switzerland, the United States and Japan. He or she will collaborate with a post-doctoral fellow focusing on issues related to organization and communication. He or she will have to write a PhD thesis on H1N1 costing issues and will be supervised by Prof. Nathalie Brender. The project is funded for three years.

  Historical Perspectives

  Le colloque propose de réfléchir aux problèmes complexes posés par les interventions humanitaires destinées à secourir les populations victimes de la famine durant l’époque contemporaine. Quelles sont les causes de ces interventions ou de l’absence d’interventions? Quels modèles suivent-elles ? Quels produits, techniques et savoirs ont-elles mobilisés ? Comment sont-elles financées ? De quelle manière les secours sont-ils distribués ? Quelle est leur efficacité ?

  Labour market transformations and industrial relations in Switzerland

  Sociology research forum, 2013

  Pour l'année 2013, le Forum de recherche sociologique traitera des transformations du marché du travail et des relations industrielles en Suisse en perspective comparée. Tout en se penchant sur une problématique d'actualité, le Département de sociologie de l'université de Genève souhaite investir un thème aux frontières de l'économie, de la science politique et de la sociologie. La problématique du chômage concerne la société en son ensemble, et est fortement liée au marché du travail ainsi qu'aux institutions. Le Forum de cette année tentera d'apporter quelques éléments de réponse à ces défis économiques et sociaux de notre temps.
