  5th summer university at the University of Strasbourg

  L’unité de recherche DRES (UMR 7354) organise à Strasbourg les 26 et 27 septembre son université d’été sur le thème du paiement. Conformément à l’approche pluridisciplinaire privilégiée au sein de DRES, l’étude du paiement sera à la fois juridique et économique (avec respectivement 18 et 3 contributions). Dans le domaine juridique, les contributions sont relatives aux principales branches du droit concernées par la notion (droit civil, droit des affaires, droit pénal). Certaines contributions abordent des thèmes classiques qui méritent d’être revisités (par exemple, les incapacités, les régimes matrimoniaux, les procédures collectives). Beaucoup d’autres traitent d’un aspect méconnu du paiement (par exemple, le paiement des obligations démembrées, la consignation, les incombances du créancier, le paiement dit de facilitation). Quelques contributions portent sur des évolutions très récentes du droit positif (les délais de paiement) ou sur des aspects prospectifs (le paiement dans les divers avant-projets de réforme du droit des obligations).

  Changing the Tune: Popular Music and Politics in the XXIst century

  From the fall of communism to the Arab spring

  Popular Music scholars have devoted considerable attention to the relationship between music and power. The symbolic practices through which subcultures state and reinforce identities have been widely documented (mainly in the field of Cultural, Gender and Postcolonial Studies), as has the increasingly political and revolutionary dimensions of popular music. Most studies have focused on the genres and movements that developed with and in the aftermath of the 1960’s counterculture. Yet little has been written about how the politics of popular music has reflected the social, geopolitical and technological changes of the late 20^th and early 21^st centuries, after the fall of Communism. Still, the music of the Arab Spring or of the Occupy and Indignados movements have been scarcely commented upon while they attest to significant changes in the way music is used by activists and revolutionaries today.
