  Networks over space and time: modelling, analyzing, and representing complex data in the digital humanities

  This workshop is about interconnections between, and in space and time. But it also sees interconnections at other levels: between modelling and analysing, between theory and practice, as well as between humanities and computing.

  In the humanities, a close look at networks and relationships, whether formal or informal, personal or social, of information or of knowledge, of transportation or of communication, has always been an important subject of study and, at the same time, a powerful analytical process. In computer science, the study of networks and of methodologies for analysis and visualization of these relationships is nowadays an increasingly well understood and practiced area of knowledge. In both the humanities and computer science, researchers are well aware of the dynamic nature of data and knowledge when viewed through the lenses of space and time.

  La carte s’impose dans notre quotidien sous des formes de plus en plus variées et nous donne une vision du monde orientée. L’expression graphique s'enrichit. L’évolution des possibilités techniques et l’amélioration de la performance des outils graphiques laisse le champ libre à une expression sémiologique variée. Elle n’est plus unique : entre la carte statique, animée ou interactive, entre l’expression classique ou artistique, quelle place aujourd’hui pour une expression sémiologique efficiente ? Les commissions Enseignement et Sémiologie du comité français de cartographie se réunissent et  vous proposent une rencontre autour de la question de la place de la sémiologie dans les cursus renouvelés des enseignements de la cartographie et, plus généralement, de la géomatique.

  Dalla mappa al GIS

  Cartografia storica e GIS nella gestione, tutela e valorizzazione dei beni ambientali e culturali

  Call for papers per partecipare al VII seminario "Dalla mappa al GIS", che si terrà a Roma il 6 e 7 giugno 2013, presso il laboratorio geocartografico "Giuseppe Caraci". Il seminario si prefigge lo scopo non solo di proporre spunti e favorire riflessioni sull’utilizzo dei laboratori geocartografici universitari come sostegno alla didattica e alla ricerca, ma in particolare, riunendo studiosi provenienti da più aree disciplinari, di promuovere future politiche di collaborazione e di scambio, ipotizzare progetti comuni, fra quanti sono interessati alla cartografia storica e alle più recenti applicazioni informatiche alla progettazione e gestione del territorio e all’analisi delle sue dinamiche.

  Data contributions to the multi-resolution teledetection with characterisation of landscape elements on different spatial scales

  Dans le cadre du plateau transversal GRANIT (Groupe de recherche en analyse de l'information territoriale) de l'UMR ADES (Aménagement, développement, environnement, santé et sociétés), un séminaire « télédétection » aura lieu le 25 janvier. Ce séminaire s'inscrit dans le cycle « Données de l'environnement » commencé en 2012.
