    Supplying and financing the court

    Economic relations between Iberian courts and urban societies at the end of the Middle Ages

    Ce colloque international organisé les 27-28 novembre 2014 à l'Universitat de València par Alexandra Beauchamp (U. Limoges, EA 4270-CRIHAM), Antoni Furió (U. València), la Casa de Velázquez (EHEHI, Madrid) et l'Universitat de València, se propose d’examiner les relations entre la cour et la cité qui l’héberge, entre les cours royales ou nobiliaires d’une part, et les citadins d’autre part, en terme d’approvisionnement et de financement, dans la Péninsule ibérique, aux deux derniers siècles du Moyen Âge. Il s'agit de mieux cerner les conditions économiques nécessaires pour que la cour puisse s’installer dans une ville, l’impact de la présence des cours sur la vie économique urbaine, la contribution des villes au train de vie fastueux des cours, ainsi que la concurrence ou les antagonismes au niveau économique, si ils existent, entre le monde curial et le monde urbain, ou entre les différentes villes.

    Alfonso VIII and Eleanor of England, Artistic Confluences Around 1200

    VIII edition of the International Seminar-Complutense Conference in Medieval Art

    October 6, 1214. The Castilian monarch, Alfonso VIII, died on his way to Plasencia. Before the month had ended, his wife Eleanor Plantagenet followed him in the monastery of Las Huelgas in Burgos. To celebrate the eight-hundredth anniversary of their passing, the UCM’s Department of History of Art I (Medieval) organises the VIII edition of their International Seminar-Complutense Conference in Medieval Art (12-14 November 2014), under the title “Alfonso VIII and Eleanor of England, Artistic Confluences Around 1200″.

    Colloque international de poésies américaines modernes et contemporaines

    Du 3 au 4 avril à la Casa de Velázquez (Madrid), le colloque « Mémoire de la mémoire » (en hommage à Juan Gelman et à José Emilio Pacheco) réunira un groupe de chercheurs francophones, anglophones et hispanophones américanistes autour des diverses fonctions mémorielles au sein du poème long. Organisé par le laboratoire FRAMESPA (France Méridionale et Espagne), les équipes CAS (Cultures anglo-saxonnes), LLA-Créatis (Lettres langages et arts – Créatis), le Seminario de Métrica española del siglo XX de la UNED (Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia), le Séminaire POP (Poésie Ou… Poésie), École des hautes études hispaniques et ibériques (Casa de Velázquez, Madrid).

    Looking to the future

    The IV International Congress Sport, Doping and Society is organized by the Technical University of Madrid (UPM) and the Spanish Agency for Health Protection in Sport (AEPSAD). Under the theme “Looking to the future”, it will be presented the results of scientific researches and new methodologies in the field of doping in sport.From the specific perspective of Social and Human Sciences, we believe that this initiative will contribute to identify the factors that influence the use of doping substances and methods. From this knowledge we hope to foster future prevention and doping control and to promote ethical behavior in sport.

    The Department of Theory and History of Education and Social Pedagogy of the University of Seville (Spain) and the academic network Interuniversity Seminar of Theory of Education (SITE) are pleased to invite you to the 13th International Congress of theory of Education: "Higher Education: the challenge of employability" to be held at the University of Seville on the 26-28 November 2014. The 13th Congress, which is international and clearly interdisciplinary, is presented as a space for debate, reflection and the exchange of experience and good practice in the fields of Higher Education and Employability. The Congress will be attended by over one hundred specialists, academics, researchers and professionals for an in-depth analysis of the triad of education, training and professional skills together with the binome of higher education and work settings from the perspective of lifelong learning. We wish to welcome all our participants: studnets, postgraduates, researchers, academics, educators, teaching staff for university and non-university higher education and agents and institutions for teaching and training in employability and professional skills.
