Dans le cadre des rendez-vous de l'histoire de Blois, l'association pour l'histoire de la protection de la nature et de l'environnement, le réseau universitaire de chercheurs en histoire environnementale (RUCHE) et le comité d’histoire du Ministère de l’écologie, du développement durable et de l’énergie s'associent pour proposer une journée d'études sur le thème « Rebelles et environnement ». Coordonnée par Rémi Luglia (historien, CRHQ-UMR 6583, Caen), elle comprendra trois conférences et une table-ronde.

2014 Digital Humanities Conference Panel Session

Text reuse – the meaningful reiteration of text, usually beyond the simple repetition of common language – is a broad concept that can naturally be understood at different levels and studied in a large variety of contexts. This panel will gather researchers from different projects focussing on text reuse in the field of Digital Classics with the aim of discussing the possible approaches to and understandings of the notion. It will also bring together current efforts and lay the ground for further research.

Edith Wharton and the Great War in France

The talk is about Edith Wharton's commitment to Paris and to France from 1914 to 1918. A wealthy and famous expatriate American novelist, who had been living mainly in Paris since 1907, she used her fame, money, writing and influence in the service of France and dedicated her considerable energies (Henry James called her the great "generalissima") to persuading her American countrymen to enter the war. In the anniversary year of the outbreak of the First World War, Edith Wharton's role in war-time Franco-American relations makes a dramatic story, well worth reconsidering.

AnaLog est un outil logiciel permettant simultanément : de faire des requêtes complexes sur des corpus bruts ou annotés, d'annoter un corpus avec son propre jeu d'étiquettes ou de corriger un corpus déjà annoté, et de traiter des données indépendamment des langues.

It invites all French-speaking geographers, from different “national” and “linguistic”contexts, but also all geographers and geographies interested in sharing their views andexperience on the diffusion and production of knowledge in the global context.

International Summer Academy, 11-19 September 2014 at the Orient-Institut Beirut. This Summer Academy offers early-career scholars an opportunity to follow up on the debates about modernity, its preconditions and its aftermath by focusing on the multifarious processes in which societies outside Europe have adopted, translated, rejected or produced the global, the modern and tradition since the seventeenth century. It places a specific focus on the notions of subjectivity and objectivity as discursive practices which are intrinsically linked to each other.

Methods in linguistics, from empirical data to typological hypotheses

Lacito thematic school, 2014

Le but de cette école thématique 2014 est de réunir des doctorants et des chercheurs actifs dans l'exploration de la diversité des langues, afin qu'ils présentent les principales méthodes en jeu dans le domaine. Chaque intervenant montrera comment les données recueillies sur le terrain peuvent conduire à repenser certaines questions de linguistique générale. L'idée de cette école est avant tout de donner aux participants intéressés les outils pour mettre en œuvre un projet personnel d'exploration linguistique, portant sur une ou plusieurs langues non documentées. Certains participants auront déjà un tel projet comme motivation préalable, d'autres pourront éventuellement le développer au cours de l'école thématique.
