  Bilan et perspectives

  Pour qui aborde les phénomènes musicaux en s’armant des outils de la sociologie des arts et de la culture, les travaux de Pierre Bourdieu sont aujourd’hui devenus quasi incontournables – qu’il s’agisse de les prolonger, de les infléchir ou de rompre avec eux. Pour autant, et bien que le problème précis des goûts musicaux ai été fort débattu dans le cadre des études sur les pratiques culturelles (qu’on pense aux travaux d’Antoine Hennion, Philippe Coulangeon, Bernard Lahire, Hervé Glevarec, etc.), aucun véritable bilan de la contribution apportée par Pierre Bourdieu à l’étude du domaine musical n’a été dressé.

  Friend or Foe: Art and the Market in the Nineteenth Century

  International conference organized by the European Society for Nineteenth-Century Art, the Netherlands Institute for Art History (RKD) and The Mesdag Collection, in conjunction with the exhibition on the artist, collector and gentleman-dealer Hendrik Willem Mesdag and the Dutch Watercolour Society, at The Mesdag Collection in The Hague, the publication on this illustrious artist and his different roles within the art world, and the digital reconstruction of the art collection owned by Mesdag, carried out by the Netherlands Institute for Art History.
