  Ethology and anthropology

  From "Umwelt" to representational worlds

  In A Stroll through the Worlds of Animals and Men, published in 1934, Jakob von Uexküll refuted the idea that animals could be reduced to a mere mechanism, responding to stimuli by reactions. Taking the tick for example, he showed how it perceives the world according to what makes sense in its surroundings. The theory of Umwelt, "surrounding world" or "sensitive world", provides every animal, human beings included, with an own particular world. The idea that all animals are endowed with a sensibility, that they interpret their environment and act accordingly, raises the question of Von Uexküll’s legacy, both for Ethology and for Anthropology: what is the heuristic value of the "sensitive worlds "? What experimental or empirical approaches allow us to delineate both the "animal perspective” and the "Native point of view" such as defined by Malinowski? Are the "worlds" of social and solitary animals significantly different? What ecological, phylogenetic or cultural imperatives determine the constitution and the interpretation of these worlds?

  Being with animals

  "Man/animal" 4th interdisciplinary workshop

  Le présent colloque a deux objets : explorer l'apport de l'anthropologie à la compréhension de la relation Homme/Animal en le croisant avec la réflexion déjà amorcée sur geste, corps et langage ; participer au développement des recherches de terrain dans le domaine de la santé autour de la médiation animale et la relation d'aide assistée par l'animal. Ce dialogue interdisciplinaire s'inscrit dans une démarche de projet et de réseau autour des praxis reliant l'Homme et l'animal, notamment l'animal éduqué pour exercer un métier avec l'Homme, et aussi autour des liens structurels (biologiques, biomécaniques, sensorimoteurs, cognitifs) et sociétaux (interactionnels, sociaux, économiques et éthiques, environnementaux) entre Homme et animal.

  Cognitive dynamics and societal transformations: how knowledge is formed and where it leads us?

  "The management of knowledge in society and in organisations" - 7th conference

  Ce 7^e colloque s’inscrit dans une perspective « indisciplinaire » et vise à croiser différentes approches académiques dans le but de repérer et de faire émerger les tendances qui se dessinent aujourd’hui dans les domaines suivants : la société de la connaissance en évolution, l’économie de la connaissance, la gestion des connaissances aux frontières et les dynamiques cognitives. Ce colloque a un double objectif. Il s’agit, d’une part, de faire un bilan sur les avancées des analyses théoriques dans le domaine des organisations et, d’autre part, de tenter de comprendre les mutations rencontrées aux frontières et au sein des organisations depuis plusieurs années, et en corollaire de mettre en évidence les principaux enjeux de société liés à ces mutations.
