  Evaluation at the heart of tensions

  36th study session of the ADMEE-Canada

  Le thème choisi cette année s’inscrit de plain-pied dans une mouvance de réflexivité critique en interpelant une diversité d’acteurs autour des tensions au cœur de l’évaluation. L’évaluation est au cœur des pratiques éducatives comme des pratiques de gestion de l’éducation. Elle est au cœur de tensions entre des systèmes de valeurs et de normes divergents, notamment celles qui lient standardisation et différenciation, contrôle et aide, prescriptions et autonomie professionnelle, compétition et démocratisation, logique d’expertise ou logique participative, etc. La session d’études de l’ADMEE-Canada constitue une occasion privilégiée de réfléchir à ce genre de tensions associées aux usages de l’évaluation, et ce, à partir de points de vue multiples, afin de cerner leur complexité et les enjeux qu’elles soulèvent.

  Empirical Approaches to Argumentation

  The workshop seeks to initiate a dialogue between scholars from North America and their French speaking colleagues working in the field of argumentation. The invited speakers share an interest in the descriptive and empirical dimension in the study of argumentation. Irrespective of the theoretical framework within which each of the participants studies argumentation and the importance they may ascribe to normative considerations, they all agree that the study of empirical data and the description of real life argumentation are at the heart of argumentation studies. As a result, each of the invited speakers, in their respective work, pays attention to the linguistic mechanisms and to the interactional processes that characterise argumentative activity. The language of the workshop will be English.

  Journées d’hommage à Jean Gattégno. Une voix qui manque toujours

  Jean Gattégno nous a quittés il y a 20 ans, le 31 mai 1994. Spécialiste de la littérature anglaise du XIX^e siècle et figure importante du syndicalisme universitaire, il fut nommé en 1981, à un moment clé du développement des politiques culturelles, à la tête de la direction du livre et de la lecture. Ce colloque a pour ambition non seulement d’interroger les politiques du livre aujourd’hui, 33 ans après les premières mesures dont certaines demeurent emblématiques, mais aussi de rendre hommage à cette figure d’universitaire si brillant devenu haut fonctionnaire.

  The colloquium on the Micropolitical Aspects of Language Policy will form part of the Multidisciplinary Approaches in Language Policy and Planning Conference (Calgary, Canada) , September 4-6 2014. The aim of the symposium is to explore micropolitical agency in language policy from a variety of points of view: narratology, didactics, theory, anthropological linguistics, language and area studies, corpus linguistics, language economics, etc.
