  European Elections in the United Kingdom and Ireland, 1994-2014: towards a Sea-Change in Politics?

  In May 2014, elections for the European Parliament will give British and Irish voters the opportunity to either express their approval for the current direction in which the European Union is heading or alternatively ask for radical change.This conference aims at exploring the significance of such “second order elections” in the United Kingdom and the Irish Republic over the period from 1994 to 2014. It takes as its starting point the emergence of anti-European parties.
