Que sont les « données » au juste ? Comment sont-elles obtenues, et quelle est leur fonction dans la production des savoirs ? Pour son septième colloque annuel, infoclio.ch invite des historiennes et des historiens, ainsi que des professionnels de la documentation pour discuter du rôle des données dans les sciences historiques.

Conférence internationale du „Mediävistenverband e.V.“

La XVI^e conférence interdisciplinaire de la Société des médiévistes en Allemagne (« Mediävistenverband ») réunit des participants de 13 nations. Le programme inclut plus de 100 contributions qui focalisent sur différents aspects de l’histoire de « l’eau ». Les présentations couvrent un grand nombre de phénomènes, allant de l’utilisation pratique de l’eau jusqu’au symbolisme de cet élément dans la vie religieuse, dans la littérature et dans les arts.

Computation and software analysis have entered nearly every imaginable field of scholarship in the last decades, in a variety of forms from digital publication of results to computational modelling embedded in experimental work. In each of these digital outputs - be it an interactive publication with mapping of relevant geo-referenced data, or perhaps a statistical program for the categorization of millions of books according to their literary genre - there is some manifestation directly in the computer code of the scholarly thought that underlies the project, of the intellectual argument around which the outcome is based.
