  Le 16 octobre 2015 aura lieu à Berne le colloque infoclio.ch 2015 sur le thème : « Données et sciences historiques ». Ce colloque est le septième de la série « Médias et sciences historiques ». Que sont les « données » au juste ? Comment sont-elles obtenues, et quelle est leur fonction dans la production des savoirs ? Pour son septième colloque annuel, infoclio.ch invite des historiennes et des historiens, ainsi que des professionnels de la documentation pour discuter du rôle des données dans les sciences historiques.

  Le pouvoir des algorithmes

  Technologies numériques et rapports de force au XXe-XXIe siècles

  À la différence des acteurs individuels et collectifs, les développements technologiques sont souvent considérés comme neutres dans leurs intentions comme dans leurs effets. Ce panel questionne ce parti pris, en s’appuyant sur l'histoire récente des technologies numériques et de l'internet. Ce panel prend pour objet le pouvoir des algorithmes, à savoir le rôle des technologies numériques dans les rapports de pouvoir de la seconde moitié du XX^e siècle jusqu'à aujourd'hui. En particulier, ce panel recherche des cas d'étude concrets qui montrent comment le développement ou la mise en application de technologies numériques ont modifié les rapports de force établis.

  Computation and software analysis have entered nearly every imaginable field of scholarship in the last decades, in a variety of forms from digital publication of results to computational modelling embedded in experimental work. In each of these digital outputs - be it an interactive publication with mapping of relevant geo-referenced data, or perhaps a statistical program for the categorization of millions of books according to their literary genre - there is some manifestation directly in the computer code of the scholarly thought that underlies the project, of the intellectual argument around which the outcome is based.

  Access to Material and Immaterial Goods

  The Relationship between Intellectual Property and its Physical Embodiment

  This conference aims to look at the relationship between intellectual property and its physical materialisations, with a particular focus on the issue of access and the challenges of new technologies. Though intellectual property protects the intangible, it is indisputable that intellectual property goods classically had to be physically materialised in order to been joyed or used. This materialisation can, however, challenge our theoretical notion of the intangible and the tangible as constituting discrete forms of property and can have serious consequences on access to intellectual property goods. Our aim is to address the divide between the intangible and the tangible from the perspective of issues of access and problems relating to new technologies.
