Reglementary social and fiscal competition in the European Union
La libéralisation du commerce mondial, vecteur de globalisation, a entraîné une mise en concurrence des systèmes juridiques en laissant aux destinataires des règles, et en particulier les opérateurs économiques, la possibilité d’optimiser leur rattachement à un système juridique et donc leur soumission à un corpus normatif donné. La globalisation a créé un marché global du droit sans gouvernement mondial pour en assurer la régulation.

European Union action for youth
La Commission, dans son livre blanc de novembre 2001 portant sur « un nouvel élan pour la jeunesse », partait du constat, que « malgré des situations très diverses, les jeunes partagent des valeurs et des ambitions mais aussi des difficultés. Ces jeunes constituent un groupe en pleine mutation caractérisée par : un accès à l’emploi et la fondation d’une famille plus tardifs, des allers-retours entre travail et études, mais surtout des parcours individuels beaucoup plus variés que par le passé. L’école ou l’université, l’emploi et l’environnement social ne jouent plus le même rôle intégrateur. L’autonomie s’acquiert de plus en plus tard ». Devant ces difficultés, vectrices de fragilité, les réponses apportées semblent en décalage avec les attentes, d’où une recrudescence de l’individualisme et des comportements voire des modes d’expression, parfois, en indélicatesse avec les systèmes démocratiques.

Flexibility and continuity in hay-meadow management
La XXIe parution de Martor, la revue d'anthropologie du musée du Paysan Roumain, se concentrera sur l'histoire sociale du foin. Durant le dernier siècle, les paysages de l’Europe ont changé d’une manière dramatique à cause du développement socio-politique et économique qui a fait décroître les domaines gérés d’une façon traditionnelle, comme les prés semi-naturels, très riches en biodiversité. Les institutions de l’Europe regardent de plus en plus attentivement la dimension patrimoniale des pratiques et des politiques de gestion de la terre. Les politiques bâties autour du concept de paysage déterminent un souci croissant pour la perte de la diversité biologique et plus précisément pour la perte du savoir local et traditionnel concernant la gestion des terres. Nous essayons de recueillir des contributions afin d'avoir une approche pluridisciplinaire sur le sujet.

The purpose of the conference is to gather scholars working on financial development (e.g. banks, central banks, and financial markets) and economic development (e.g. growth and structural change) in Southeastern Europe to get new, challenging, and exciting insights into the interrelationships between the financial sector and the real economy. Quantitative and qualitative research as well as national case studies and cross-country comparative work can be presented at this conference.

In order to study both the evolution and the contents of such relations, two main topics will be given a more particular interest: Cultural and Scientific Relations in connection with the change of mutual understanding from the 19th to the 21th century; Evolution of Economic relations from the 19th to the 21th century.

Third Sector. Towards a collaborative Public Service
XIVth edition of the International Public Management Symposium
There is a trend for governments to try developping partnerships with the Third Sector (non-profit associations, foundations, social enterprises and cooperatives...) which is being recognized as one of the main economical and social actor. We may quote, as an example, the governmental project of Big Society in the United-Kingdom. This international symposium will gather researchers and practitioners to debate the place of the Third Sector in the process of creating a collaborative Public Service. Many questions will be at stake: How to define the Third Sector? What is the impact of cultural characteritics on its development? How does it imply the participation of civil society to the co-production of Public Services? Is it a "miracle cure" in this time of pressure on the public purse?

Quality Assurance and Value Management in Higher Education
Quality et conduite de la valeur pour l'enseignement du supérieur (pédagogie, organisation etc.)
This book will aim to provide identified and relevant proposals of good practices to promote the outcomes and favor the issues of Higher Education providers; proposals that integrate all stakeholders dialogic expectations (the clients: trainers, trainees, companies and society) in a resolutely innovative optical within the sense of sustainability and the EFQM Excellence model. Within theoretical results into perspective by the concrete practice work, clues will be presented to help quality through design process, pedagogy, organization and management for WIL in Higher Education. Value management principles and standards are considered as a global framework to develop such trainings to achieve success in a European Environment (European Standards and Guidelines) but not only: facing uncertainties and constraints. Obviously strategy, policy and leadership have to be considered.

En modifiant la géographie d’un point de passage stratégique, en proposant de nouvelles conditions à ce passage, la réalisation du tunnel sous la Manche a bouleversé l’économie des échanges entre les régions concernées. Cette nouvelle liaison ferroviaire constitue un système technique à l’échelle de plusieurs pays européens. Elle a donc donné, aussi, un nouveau visage à la géographie des transports de l’ouest de l’Europe.
