  16th International Conference on Migration

  The 16th International Conference on Migration take place the 23–25^th of June 2016 in innsbruck/Austria. This year, the conference will discuss the concept of generation in the context of migration, and will also examine the use of the concept of genera-tions in empirical research and in public discourse. Likewise of central concern here is to view the phenomenon of migration from an inter-generational perspective and to ask to what extent this can contribute to a better understanding of migration.

  Cross-border relations: couples and families in the modern era of mobility

  La journée d’étude a pour but de débattre des différentes formes de dépassements frontaliers dans le cadre conjugal et familial. Nous nous interrogerons sur le rôle ainsi que sur la fonction des rapports de proximité familiale pendant la période de mobilité tout comme au moment de la sédentarisation. À partir d’une multitude de perspectives et de regards à long terme sur les communautés interculturelles privées, la journée d’étude propose également de réfléchir à l’élaboration de concepts pour une historisation systématique des dites communautés.

  The Mediterranean: young people, migrations and development

  The aim of the international conference on youth, migrations and development around the Mediterranean, is to highlight the new interdisciplinary research perspectives that are currently emerging on these issues. The conference seeks to bring together members of the scientific community as well as civil society and institutional actors who are interested in the relationship between young people, migrations and development in the Mediterranean area. More specifically, its main objective is to provide a broad overview of the current state of research on three specific populations: descendants of migrants (the so-called “second generation”); children of refugees; unaccompanied minors.

  17th national demography conference

  Le XVII^e colloque national de démographie, organisé par la Conférence universitaire de démographie et d’étude des populations (Cudep), se déroulera à Lille, du 17 au 20 mai 2016 et aura pour thème « Mobilités spatiales et populations ». Il réunira des démographes et des chercheurs d’autres disciplines dont les travaux traitent de la mobilité géographique et pour lesquels la démographie et les questions de population sont centrales. La mobilité pourra être envisagée à différentes échelles géographiques (internationale, régionale, locale,…) et une attention particulière pourra être portée aux enjeux liés aux différents types d’espaces (urbain, périurbain, rural,…) et territoires administratifs (métropoles, villes moyennes, nouvelle carte régionale,…).
