Narrative, the Digital, and ‘Unidentified’ Media
It seems that narrative today is undergoing a radical change in its "source code". New technologies are changing the way texts are produced, distributed, viewed and read. The conference Poetics of the Algorithm intends to chart the implications of this shift. What does it mean that through digital technologies we can now experience on the surface of a single (touch) screen previously distinct media, artefacts and events such as literature in codex form, comic books, exhibitions, films, photographs, visual art and so on? Has medium-specificity become an obsolete notion given that binary code and algorithms seem to bypass material constraints?

Bibliothèques, musées, éditeurs, producteurs s’appliquent à proposer des versions numériques de leurs œuvres et contenus, consultables désormais sur des appareils électroniques.

Xth ISKO Conference – France 2015
Over the past fifteen years, digital technology has brought about extensive changes in the conditions of production and dissemination of knowledge. The creation, digitization, structuring, processing and valorization of corpuses of images, texts, sounds, and videos have become such central issues for the sciences that handle them that the questions and practices involved have been brought together under the common heading of “digital humanities”. The Tenth Conference of the French branch of ISKO (ISKO France 2015) calls for contributions exploring theoretical, methodological or practical approaches to these issues, with an emphasis on the various dimensions of the production, organization, and management of knowledge in the digital humanities.

Seconde rencontre du cycle de journées d'études dont l'objectif est d'étudier les enjeux numériques dans les sciences humaines et sociales. La séance du 5 février s'intéressera à l'édition électronique. La rencontre débutera par un tour d’horizon théorique qui nous permettra de définir le concept d’édition numérique. Les interventions suivantes nous présenteront, à travers des cas pratiques, certains outils et méthodes qui peuvent être exploités pour produire des documents numériques (numérisation, création de textes numériques nativement, édition d’un texte littéraire, etc.) et pour les diffuser (CMS, blogs, projets collaboratifs, etc.).

Archives audiovisuelles et valorisation du patrimoine à l'ère numérique

Les archives audiovisuelles sont considérées comme des éléments du patrimoine à part entière. La question de leur préservation et de leur valorisation pose cependant des problèmes spécifiques liés aux particularités du média lui-même, de leurs supports et de leurs conditions de production et de diffusion, assez différentes de celles des documents imprimés. Valoriser le patrimoine audiovisuel suppose donc tout d'abord une bonne connaissance de ce contexte particulier. Cela constitue la problématique de ce numéro spécial de la revue Les cahiers du numérique qui se propose d’éclairer la notion de valorisation du patrimoine audiovisuel, tout en révélant les enjeux et les défis qui lui sont attachés.

Discussion about the role of the Humanities in academia and society has a long history. The confluence of this debate with the changes brought about by digital technology is not new either: one cannot speak of "new technologies" for the Humanities when many researchers turned to digital methods at least four decades ago, in disciplines as diverse as Linguistics, History or Literary Studies. The Conference “Digital Humanities in Portugal” aims precisely to stimulate these intersections, opening up a forum for discussion and sharing of research results or ongoing projects in this field of knowledge.

Seminar - Epistemology and methodology
Depuis plusieurs années déjà, par le biais de formations et de séminaires, l'Institut national d'histoire de l'art, via en particulier sa composante InVisu, s'est investi dans le numérique éditorial, en effectuant une veille active dans le domaine des humanités numériques, et plus spécialement pour ce qui touche au domaine visuel. De nombreux contacts et échanges sont régulièrement établis entre les différentes composantes de l'établissement et diverses équipes, tant en France qu'à l'étranger, sur des problématiques, des projets concernant les enjeux, les représentations, les aspects techniques, ou les questions juridiques liées à l'image, sous toutes ses formes. Le séminaire Les lundis numériques de l'INHA propose ainsi chaque 2e lundi du mois à partir de septembre 2014 une séance ouverte au public où sont présentées et débattues ces thématiques et ces réalisations.
