  Scholars, artists, citizens - all creators?

  Le CERCRID (UMR 5137) organise, en partenariat avec le centre culturel de Goutelas, un colloque consacré au profond mouvement contemporain de participation des amateurs à la création artistique et à la production des connaissances scientifiques. Ce colloque s'accompagne de la projection d'un court-métrage qui retrace une expérience théâtrale associant des amateurs et des professionnels, ainsi que de la représentation d'une pièce de théâtre consacrée à la création artistique. La première journée sera consacrée à des présentations émanant de spécialistes du droit, des sciences de l'information et de la communication, de neuropsychologie, de l'histoire, de sociologie, de science politique. La demi-journée suivante sera consacrée à une table-ronde rendant compte d'expériences vécues de participation d'amateurs à la création artistique et scientifique.

  Dialogue between researchers in the humanities and social sciences and artists at the Avignon festival

  Anthropologues, historiens, philosophes, sociologues, linguistes, chercheurs en art, littérature, théâtre, sciences politiques, sciences cognitives et neurosciences, dialogueront avec des artistes du Festival et exploreront le processus de création et de réception des œuvres. Il s’agira de confronter ainsi les différents courants de la recherche internationale aux approches et aux préoccupations des acteurs culturels, sociaux ou économiques.

  Over and Over

  Exploring repetition in popular music

  Over and Over: Exploring repetition in popular music aims at identifying and studying the recent aesthetic and analytical developments of musical repetition. From the 32-bar forms of Tin Pan Alley, through the cyclic forms of modal jazz, to the more recent accumulation of digital layers, beats, and breaks in Electronic Dance Music (EDM), repetition as both an aesthetic disposition or formal musicological property stimulated a diversity of genres and techniques. After decades of riffs, loops, vamps, reiterated rhythmic patterns, as well as pervasive harmonic formulae and recurring structural units in standardized song forms, the time has come to give these notions the place they deserve in the study of popular music.
