Le colloque intéressera un public divers de chercheurs mais aussi de professionnels réfléchissant aux questions des rapports sociaux entre humains et non humains.

  Call for papers - Prehistory and Antiquity

  From the Caucasus to the Arabian Peninsula: studying domestic spaces in the Neolithic

  Under neolithisation scholars understand multiple processes of social and economic transformation which begin at different times and follow regional trends in the Near and Middle East. It is within the complex relational and spatial framework of the household that these shifts in the structure and activities of Neolithic communities are easiest to apprehend and study. The conference will therefore focus on the domestic sphere in order to highlight and understand the polymorphous nature of what we call neolithisation. Various thematic sessions will be held to shed new light on current data: “Impacts of the shift to a sedentary/semi-sedentary lifestyle”; “Organising the house and the household”; “Private space/public space”; “Acquisition, production, transformation and use”; “Eating-Moving”; “Symbolic manifestations”;“The living and the dead”.

  Biographies of objects

  Ce séminaire a pour intention de proposer une réflexion sur la vie des artéfacts archéologiques. Appréhender les différentes étapes de production, d’utilisation et de déposition d’objets par les populations du passé nous permet de comprendre le rapport de ces sociétés avec les objets eux-mêmes. De plus, réfléchir à la biographie d’un objet nous amène à appréhender les étapes consécutives à la découverte pour la restauration et la mise en valeur. Au cours des cinq séances proposées, nous essaierons de traiter d’un type d’objet à travers les époques afin de confronter les points de vue méthodologiques. Nous conclurons ce séminaire par une journée d’étude qui serra l’occasion de confronter les réflexions archéologiques menées lors des séances thématiques.
