Exploring 19th and 20th centuries historiographies of mathematics in the ancient world (2015-2016)
Seminar of the European Research Council Project "Mathematical sciences in the ancient world"
The organization of this seminar marks the beginning of the third and last phase of the SAW project. Our aim is to explore various facets of 19th and 20th century historical research about ancient mathematical sciences, especially those attested to by sources written in Chinese, the languages of the Indian subcontinent and cuneiform script.

The seminar is the meeting point between different SPHERE teams that are interested in mathematics. It fosters dialogue between philosophers and historians of mathematics while focusing on textual sources. Speakers are encouraged to make their sources available to the participants.

The literatures of India: questions of delimitation
Project for an encyclopedia/dictionary of Indian literature (DELI)
La première journée d’étude du projet « Dictionnaire encyclopédique des littératures de l'Inde » (DELI) se propose de mener une réflexion commune sur ce que nous entendons par « littératures de l’Inde ». Comme cela est clairement apparu lors de précédentes discussions, l’expression pose en particulier des problèmes aigus de délimitation. Si « l’Inde » ne désigne pas une entité géographique et politique nettement et durablement définie, le critère des « langues indiennes » n’est guère moins problématique et la notion de littérature telle qu’elle a été élaborée en Occident depuis le XIXe siècle impose à la production littéraire des divisions qui lui sont largement étrangères.

This panel is meant to discuss these migrating populations’ mobility procedures in lusophone countries, while seeking to construct through the different presentations a broaden mosaic of reflexions about when and how these populations have moved, and how they have used and instrumentalized the "imagined" and politically constructed idea of a "lusophone community".

Research position for the "Encyclopaedia of Indian literatures" (DELI)
Le projet DELI (Dictionnaire encyclopédique des littératures de l’Inde), qui est financé par l’Idex Université Sorbonne Paris Cité, recrute un chercheur au niveau post-doctoral ou un ingénieur d’études à temps plein pour une durée de 18 mois (renouvelable sous conditions), à partir du 1er décembre 2015. Ce collègue assistera les responsables du projet DELI dans des activités administratives, financières et éditoriales (pour les versions papier et numérique du dictionnaire) tout en pouvant mener des recherches autonomes.

Pour son sixième numéro, Impressions d'Extrême-Orient, revue de l'axe de recherche Littératures d'Extrême-Orient, textes et traduction (Leo2t) de l'Institut de recherches asiatiques (IrAsia-UMR 7306 : CNRS / Aix-Marseille Université) s'intéresse à la censure dans le domaine littéraire. Elle sollicite des traductions inédites de textes littéraires en rapport avec ce thème.

Quality Assurance and Value Management in Higher Education
Quality et conduite de la valeur pour l'enseignement du supérieur (pédagogie, organisation etc.)
This book will aim to provide identified and relevant proposals of good practices to promote the outcomes and favor the issues of Higher Education providers; proposals that integrate all stakeholders dialogic expectations (the clients: trainers, trainees, companies and society) in a resolutely innovative optical within the sense of sustainability and the EFQM Excellence model. Within theoretical results into perspective by the concrete practice work, clues will be presented to help quality through design process, pedagogy, organization and management for WIL in Higher Education. Value management principles and standards are considered as a global framework to develop such trainings to achieve success in a European Environment (European Standards and Guidelines) but not only: facing uncertainties and constraints. Obviously strategy, policy and leadership have to be considered.

Romain Rolland and India: a fruitful exchange
Dès ses années de formation à l’École normale supérieure, Rolland s’intéresse aux religions d’Asie que lui fait découvrir le romantisme français et allemand. Le thème de l’Orient est d’ailleurs plusieurs fois abordé dans Jean-Christophe. Très impliqué, après la guerre, dans le débat Orient-Occident, Rolland s’intéresse à Mohandas K. Gandhi et son satyagraha comme moyen non-violent de libération des peuples.
