Information visualisation in Humanities
The previous edition of the visualization of information took place in 2015 and was related to computer science. In 2017 we focus on the use of visualization in the humanities, and in particular book- and information sciences, history, cultural studies and the arts. The purpose of this event is to increase awareness about the importance of scientific communication in graphical form among Polish humanists, and integration of academic community for experience exchange in the field of the art of visualization.

Conference #dariahTeach
This conference is the closing event of the Erasmus+ project #dariahTeach (23-24 March 2017, Lausanne). It is an event joined to the DARIAH workshop Open Education (22-23 March 2017, Lausanne). Both are endorsed by ADHO, EADH, and Humanistica. #dariahTeach is developing open-source, high quality, multilingual teaching materials for the digital arts and humanities.

This workshop is focused on how new digital pedagogical aspects may be driven by communities, enablers and stakeholders. This event would like to engage in discussions and collaborations with the goal of putting the “why” and “how” of digitally enhanced learning, OER and MOOCs as a public good on the agenda. The Florian Znaniecki Scientific Foundation founded in 1989 plans to publish a volume, as part of the Sociological Monographs series, with a working title “Contemporary migrations in the humanistic coefficient perspective. Florian Znaniecki’s thought in today’s science”. Therefore, we would like to invite you to send us the original, previously unpublished, English-language works devoted to the application of Florian Znaniecki’s thought in contemporary migration research.

Humanities at Scale (HaS): Official Kick Off Meeting
Next week sees the official kick off of DARIAH coordinated project Humanities at Scale (HaS). The two day event is hosted by DANS (Data Archiving and Networked Services), DARIAH's Coordinating Institution in the Netherlands. It starts January 19, 2016 at 12:00 and will feature general presentations of the HaS work packages as well as specific work shops on the different HaS activities.

Disciplines and fields of study are far from being stable entities; tracing the history of any field of study reveals their connection to social and cultural contexts, attempts at legitimation, shifts in methodological approaches, complex relations with other fields of study, as well as the influence of institutional factors.
