  La communication politique et la diplomatie à la fin du Moyen Âge

  Ce congrès fait un état de la question de l'histoire de la diplomatie médiévale, un sujet sur le processus de renouvellement méthodologique. Pour cela, l'accent sera mis sur certains aspects tels que les nouvelles tendances historiographiques, la grande variété de sources disponibles (littérature, archives, correspondance...), la sociologie des protagonistes (ecclésiastiques, noblesse, juristes, commerçants...) et les différents contextes politiques de la diplomatie (papauté, royaumes, villes ...).

  Women, Citizenship and Voting Rights

  On the 40^th anniversary of the 1976’s Portuguese Constitution, which granted universal voting rights for the first time, the Institute of Contemporary History will be hosting an international conference to analyse the role of women in the election processes. The conference will be held on 21 and 22 November 2016 at the Assembly of the Republic and it is open to all scientific areas.

  Identity, memory and history

  The concepts of identity and memory have achieved great relevance in the current historiographical debate. The contemporary societies are in constant self-reflection, debating the process of its own constitution based upon the identification of its elements of unity or of differentiation. History has played an important role in this process, between the recognition of their complexity and the will to establish individual and identifiable groups.
