  The coast and behind - what realities?

  LITRé study day

  L’évolution des territoires littoraux ne peut être analysée de façon indépendante des territoires qui les jouxtent et dont ils dépendent à différents points de vue. En effet, si certaines politiques et modalités d’action sont propres au littoral, les politiques d’aménagement concernent des territoires plus larges intégrant des composantes littorales et rétrolittorales. Cette influence est réciproque et chacune de ces composantes voit son évolution, tant socio-économique que paysagère ou environnementale, liée aux caractéristiques de l’autre. Cette journée d’étude a pour ambition d’interroger de façon pluridisciplinaire la définition de ces espaces et sur la façon dont les politiques d’aménagement prennent en compte et influencent la différenciation territoriale « littoral / rétrolittoral ».

  Dans le sillage des récents et importants travaux de Jacques Verger sur la mobilité étudiante au Moyen Âge, nous souhaiterions proposer une vaste réflexion au croisement des disciplines sur la figure de l’étudiant de l’Antiquité au XXI^e siècle. Cette enquête croisera avec profit des approches variées, historiques, géographiques, juridiques, sociologiques, rhétoriques, littéraires, médicales notamment.

  New ports, pioneer ports (XIVth-XXIth centuries)

  The Conference will address four topics: the creation of a port, the major enlargement of an existing port, the rapid transformation of a small port into a big harbour, or the temporary establishment of a port for economic or military reasons. The analysis includes commercial harbours and naval bases, as well as mixed ports. The concept of an “Atlantic port” refers to its location on the Atlantic Ocean or its extensions in the Channel, the North Sea and the Caribbean Sea. This includes the ports of the European, the African and American Atlantic littoral, as well as the metropolitan European and the African and American ports both as colonial ports and after their independence.
