  Sixth rencontres internationales de Reims on Sustainability Science

  The sixth edition of the Rencontres Internationales de Reims on Sustainability Science addresses the habitability of underground spaces, and how they can contribute to successful urban transitions to sustainability. Traditionally, the focus in the three-dimensional city is only on height growth. Still, urban subterranean world already host components and networks crucial to ensure a proper functioning of the city. In addition, more and more cities are also designing their future development underground, around the world.

  Geo-economic and geo-political approaches

  The aim of the conference "Contemporary Crisis and changes" is to question these contemporary upheavals through both a geo-economic and a geopolitical reading. The conference will provide elements of analysis and compare them especially with contemporary representations of globalisation emphasizing in particular the logic of closure that seems to characterize this phenomenon.

  Ce cycle de cinq journées d’étude (2015 à 2017) interroge l’émergence de l’espace comme objet, approche ou méthode des différentes disciplines des sciences humaines et sociales, ainsi que les recompositions qu’entraîne ce tournant spatial dans le champ des SHS. Cette journée est consacrée à la place de la question spatiale dans le champ des recherches consacrées à la ville et à l’urbain, qui connaissent un essor considérable depuis une cinquantaine d’années.
