    The prevention of mass crimes

    L'institut d'études humanitaires et internationales de Aix-en-Provence organise, en collaboration avec la Fondation NOHA et la Fondation du Camps de Milles- Mémoire et Education, le 10 décembre une visite gratuite du Camp des Milles et table ronde, dans l'après midi, autour du sujet "la prévention des crimes de masse", vous trouverez une présentation détaillée du programme de la journée. Le but étant de créer un partage d'opinion sur la question de la résistibilité aux crimes de masse du point de vue de la communauté internationale mais aussi de la société civile.

    Figth, suffer and Die in the Wars of the French Revolution and of the First Empire

    Approches croisées histoire-anthropologie

    This symposium entitled takes part in the renewal of studies concerning the historical anthropology of war focusing on the 1789-1815 period. To start with, violence in all forms will be the topic of a questioning bases on the  chronological point of view. Is it relevant to consider the period as a time of strong reorientation sided with an increase in importance of the “ideologising” of violence on the battlefield ? By setting the analysis at the level of fighters, our purpose is to think about the sufferings that are inherent to war.
