    Think clean

    5th international congress “Sport, doping and society”

    The 5th international congress “Sport, doping and society” is organized by the Spanish Agency for Health Protection in Sport (AEPSAD) and the Technical University of Madrid (UPM). Under the theme “Think Clean”, there will be presented the results of scientific researches and new methodologies in the field of doping in sport from the specific perspective of Human and Social Sciences. We believe that this initiative will contribute to identify the factors that influence the use of doping substances and methods. From this knowledge we hope to foster future prevention and doping control and to promote ethical behavior in sport.

    The era of globalization arises numerous challenges to accept plurality, differences and management of cultural diversity, especially, with the return of the ingredient of culture to the field of political action in a context in which culture has a central role in the post Cold War world. Globalization has tried to widespread certain values, practices and cultural expressions, whereas in numerous Arab and Western countries, refuge has been sought in cultural singularity and identity. Therefore, cultural factors have had their impact in the design of national, regional and international policies.

    Letters from women in medieval Europe (11th-15th century)

    Miroir de l’âme mais aussi instrument de communication et d’action politique, la lettre est un objet d’étude qui suscite, depuis quelques années, une attention particulière. La correspondance des femmes est cependant un domaine encore peu exploré et, en dépit de travaux ponctuels sur la production épistolaire de quelques reines, princesses ou nobles dames, rares sont les études d’ensemble sur ce sujet. Pourtant, les lettres de femmes contiennent de précieuses informations sur leur vie, leurs aspirations, et leur rôle au sein de la société. Consacrées aux documents de la pratique mais aussi aux lettres fictives que l’on trouve dans l’historiographie et la littérature, les communications présentées lors de ce colloque examineront les spécificités de ces divers écrits.

    Le département des sciences humaines et réligieuses de l'université catholique de Murcie et le groupe de recherce Studia Humanitatis organisent le congrés international autour des rapports entre les sports, les cultures et les réligions du point de vue historique. L'interêt principal est le travail de recherche en ce qui concerne la perspective historique, dés l'Antiquité jusqu'à nos jours et, par conséquent, nous voulons travailler sur tous les domaines de recherche des différents branches des études historiques, en ajoutant aussi les études sociologiques et anthropologiques en touchant les divers époques, pays, civilisations, cultures et réligions, avec leur différentes concepts sur le sport, le spectacle sportif, et les expressions trés variées de l'expérience publique ou privée des faits réligieux chrétiens qui viennent associés aux manifestations sportives dans l'histoire comme phénomène culturel.

    International Seminar of CORPUS (International Group for the Cultural Studies of the Body)

    The present seminar is the continuation of the symposium Bodies in action. The Biocultural Dimensions of the Everyday life that was held within the framework of the 4th Congress on Latin American Anthropology (Mexico, 2015). We invite to this seminar Biocultural Dimensions of the Everyday life researchers interested in the study of the body, of the human embodiment, of the techniques of the body, of the linkages between bodily action and material culture, of the human/animal co-actions, of the nutrition, of the health, of the bodily education, of the dance, of the sexuality and of other fragments of everyday life that invite to think about the complexity of the human being-in-the-world.
