  Music, culture and identities in the south-east provinces of France, 17th-18th centuries

  Ce colloque vise à susciter de nouveaux travaux sur la vie musicale sous l’Ancien Régime au sein d'une vaste région située entre vallée du Rhône et Atlantique, en s’attachant plus concrètement aux lieux, aux institutions, aux hommes et aux pratiques qu’elles soient savantes ou populaires, religieuses ou profanes, publiques ou privées. Pluridisciplinaire, la rencontre proposera une approche large des composantes de la vie culturelle régionale entretenant avec le champ musical des liens forts, qu’il s’agisse de la liturgie, de la danse ou du théâtre ; à ce titre elle abordera aussi bien l’activité des poètes écrivant en français, en latin ou en langue d’oc, que la circulation des acteurs de la vie musicale et leur constitution en réseaux.

  Call for papers - Prehistory and Antiquity

  Thinness and slimness in Antiquity. Greece, East, Rome

  This symposium will bring together researchers coming from France and from foreign countries, and from diverse backgrounds: philologists, historians (of food, of medicine), sociologists, anthropologists, philosophers, literary persons, archaeologists (in particular in the domains of the bioarchaeology, paleopathology, osteology), art historians. All the aspects of the question will be analyzed. The history of the crisis in supply, the food practices of limitation under the circumstances will be approached in particular (famine, disease, diet), as the definition and the representations of the thinness and the slimness on the ancient societies, in art and literature. The approach will try to combine, even to confront, the history of mentalities and the study of the realities in Antiquity.

  European sexologies, Historical and social approaches

  This conference seeks to assess the current state of research in a thriving field and to create a European research network on the history of sexology. The term sexology here is understood in a broad sense (as scholarly discourse on human sexuality) and the period covered will be large, from the nineteenth century to the early 1970s. The historiography of this field, which like historiography on sexuality dates back to the 1970s and 1980s, is currently undergoing considerable change, through the influence of social and feminist history on the sciences. This has resulted in less focus on the study of paradigms and scientific pronouncements and instead privileged social and material histories of scholars and academic practices

  Music, culture and identities in the South-West Provinces of France (17th-18th centuries)

  Depuis une vingtaine d’années, sous l’impulsion de François Lesure, l’étude de la vie musicale dans les régions de France sous l’Ancien Régime s’est largement développée (thèses consacrées à la musique des métropoles régionales, chantiers de recherches Musefrem et Saintes-Chapelles, inventaires des fonds conservés en province, publications du CMBV…). Plusieurs travaux importants ont révélé la richesse de l’activité musicale dans les provinces du Sud-Ouest, dont ceux de Jean-Christophe Maillard et de Benoît Michel récemment disparus. Le présent colloque vise à poursuivre l’œuvre entrepris en suscitant de nouveaux travaux sur cette vaste région entre vallée du Rhône et Atlantique, en s’attachant aux lieux, aux institutions, aux hommes et aux pratiques.
