  La British Society for the History of Science (BSHS) finance annuellement une conférence en histoire des sciences, des techniques et de la médecine. Jusqu’à présent, cet événement a eu lieu dans une université du Royaume-Uni. Pour la première fois dans l’histoire de la BSHS, l’édition 2017 aura lieu en dehors des frontières britanniques, à l’Institut universitaire européen, Florence, en collaboration également avec le Centre Alexandre Koyré, Paris.

  Ce colloque entend fixer son attention sur le thème de la valorisation de l’écriture européenne de l’histoire de l’Europe au XX^e siècle ; c’est-à-dire sur les historiens ayant mis en œuvre de manière précoce des procédures décentrant de l’histoire « nationale » ou de l’histoire globale (histoire des civilisations, histoire diplomatique par exemple) leur réflexion jusqu’à user d’une optique européenne leur permettant de repenser un passé des profondeurs qui est désormais le présent de l’Europe.

  "By the Book 3" brings together scholars from the field of publishing studies, alongside industry professionals, to examine key issues around the digital transformation of the book, as well as to discuss the developing field of publishing studies. If we examine global book production over the last 70 years, there is a clear discrepancy between the growth in population, the number of titles published, and the number of books sold and lent. This divergent trends in book production and consumption pose a set of pressing questions related to the publishing economy, marketing and skills.
